Last week Orlando Attraction Tickets were lucky enough to gain access to the preview period for Disney’s new Fantasyland additions at Magic Kingdom.
Not open to the general public until December 6th OAT were treated to a look at several new attractions including
Be Our Guest Restaurant – This magical dining location was taken straight out of the film “Beauty and The Beast,” and features three amazingly themed dining rooms – the Ballroom, the spooky West Wing, and the Rose Gallery. While lunch is first-come, first-served, reservations are strongly recommended for dinner. You can browse the menus of French-inspired cuisine here.
Bonjour! Village Gifts – Find goodies inspired by both “Beauty and the Beast” and “The Little Mermaid” at this shop in Belle’s Village.
Enchanted Tales With Belle – Forget everything you know about character greeting experiences with Disney characters. Here you’re invited inside Belle’s childhood home and are magically transported into Beast’s Castle, where you spend time with Belle by reenacting her fateful meeting with Beast. Disney PhotoPass is on-hand to capture it all.
Gaston’s Tavern – Head inside Gaston’s ultimate retreat for a sip of LeFou’s Brew, or a bite of a pork shankor a tasty cinnamon roll.
Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid – Plunge under the sea to follow Ariel as she meets Prince Eric, battles Ursula the Sea Witch, and makes the choice to become human. Be sure to bring your cameras to this attraction – Prince Eric’s Castle, which tops off the attraction, is guaranteed to impress.
Straight off the bat Disney confirmed they have plans to make 3 new Star War’s movies the first due for release in 2015! So obviously this has got us dreaming here of a Star Wars Land at the Magic Kingdom and what it might entail, here’s our wish list.
3d motion rides are all the rage at the moment think Forbidden Journey, Transformers 3d etc, imagine a 3d motion ride where the rider takes on the part of young Luke Skywalker taking charge of a rebel attack on the death star! It seems almost too perfect!
Similar to air in the UK, this coaster set in the Ewok’s forrest, is all about speed. Sit back grab hold and prepare for Spppppeeeeeeeedddddd…..
The most famous ship in all of Star Wars is of course the Millennium Falcon; what always stuck out for me was when Han Solo would set the ship in to Hyperspeed using the Hyperdrive. A coaster similar to Cheetah Hunt at Busch Gardens with multiple launch platforms would give that feeling of hyperspeed but as its in space the action would take please indoors similar to Rock N’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studio’s.
BATTLE OF HOTH
The Battle of Hoth is one of most memorable encounters in Star Wars, imagine a Simpson’s style attraction which puts you bang in the heart of all the action!?
On top of the possibility of these great rides, we’d expect some amazing Jedi lead show’s with acrobatics and plenty of light sabre sword play. For the little one’s we’d want numerous Jedi schools to teach the Padawan the ways of the Force. Perhaps some kind of droid workshop similar to make your own teddy bear!?
These are of course just our idea’s…. What would you like to see if Disney do indeed build Star War’s Land?
Disney announced via their blog that the official date for the opening of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow will be December 6th, Jennifer Fickley-Baker, Social Media Manager for Disney Parks stated
Dress rehearsals and previews begin in late November before the grand opening on December 6
From what we understand here at Orlando Attraction Tickets the new addition will be a walk through attraction and will be positioned where the Narnia attraction was based.
Jennifer also added;
guests will journey deep into an eerie lost grotto, where a mysterious pirate skull puts them to the test to see if they have what it takes to set sail with the legendary Captain Jack Sparrow. Along the way, they must face all the perils of a pirate’s life as their favorite moments from the films come to life before their eyes.
I don’t know about you but I love the Pirates of the Caribbean films and can’t wait to visit.
Boosted heavily by its Theme Parks, Disney posted a very healthy rise in profits of 14% on a revenue of 1.2 Billion.
The theme parks division gained from passengers spending more time on Disney cruise ships plus higher attendance at parks in Hong Kong, California and Paris, the launch of its newest cruise ship, the Disney Fantasy, in March, and the opening of a new section at Disney California Adventure called Cars Land in June.
Interestingly Disney stated that it was about to enter a transitional year. Disney SCO, Bob Iger stated
the company is moving from “investment mode” into “a more compelling growth mode
The growth mode Iger mentions will be spear headed by the companies most recent purchase of LucasFilm and the prospect of 2 more Star Wars films.
