Hi Thrill Seekers,
There still seems to be a bit of confusion regarding what an E-Ticket is, an E-Ticket is totally different to a voucher.
What is a voucher?
A Voucher is a redeemable paper confirmation from an attraction
ticket provider which allows the customer to collect their tickets from allocated ticket booths or guest services upon arrival.
OAT says – We don’t sell these.
What is an E-Ticket?
An E-Ticket is a gate ready printable ticket, that allows you to go straight to the turnstile and enter the park. No exchanging is required. Its exactly the same as a ticket made of cardboard except you can re-print it if lost.
OAT says – This is what we offer for SeaWorld Parks including Aquatica, Busch Gardens and Discovery Cove.
Electronic and Mobile ticketing is the future of theme park tickets, it will only be a matter of time before no cardboard tickets are sent at all. Customer will just scan their smart phones for entry in to the parks, SeaWorld are already testing this technology.
The picture above was taken on my last trip to Orlando and shows a member of our staff using the E-Ticket to enter SeaWorld directly at the turnstile. 🙂
So just to confirm, Orlando Attraction Tickets only offers gate ready tickets we do not sell vouchers.
One thing is for sure though Smiles are included…
Hi Thrill Seekers,
I know, I know, a new Star Wars film isn’t exactly theme park news
but I thought the fact that Lucas Film is now owned by Disney gives me a little wiggle room. Plus when Disney make a purchase of this size you’d expect them to be looking to recoup as much of that money as they can, so a theme park land may well be in the pipeline, I wrote about what I’d like to see from a Star Wars Land a few weeks ago.
Now I know the last trilogy of Star Wars films were not up to much, but if latest reports are true Disney are definitely looking to alter that perception by drafting in JJ Abrams (Lost, Star Trek) to Direct. Abrams is a known fan of Star Wars and even took part in a “Ted Talks” lecture about the original Star Wars films.
The script has been written by Toy Story writer Michael Arndt with Lawrence Kasdan, writer of “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi” working as a consultant on the new project which is due for release in 2015.
In Friday night’s statement Abrams called it an “absolute honour” to get the job.
He went on to add
“I may be even more grateful to George Lucas now than I was as a kid,”
Lucas himself said in the statement that
“I’ve consistently been impressed with J.J. as a filmmaker and storyteller. He’s an ideal choice to direct the new Star Wars film and the legacy couldn’t be in better hands.”
If I were writing the new Star Wars movie this is what I would do –
- More Boba Fett
- No Jaja Binks
- New main characters, move on from Luke, Han, Vader etc
- Go easy on the CGI, Live action is much better.
What would you do to make sure the next Star Wars Film was a success?

Ahoy there me’ Thrill Seekers,
Today via their blog Disney confirmed something we already new, that their new interactive quest called A Pirate’s Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas will debut in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom Park this spring.
So what’s it all about? Disney stated
In A Pirate’s Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas, guests will use a pirate map and magic talisman to help them complete five different pirate raids throughout Adventureland. The goal is to help locate different Treasures of the Seven Seas and fight off pirate enemies like the Royal Navy and Captain Barbossa, among others. If guests help Captain Jack succeed in all the missions, they’ll be welcomed as part of his new crew. If not, they’ll face the wrath of the cruel sea – alone.
It sounds great for all those budding adventures out there.. Disney also shared a sketch provided by their Imagineering team (best job ever?) which we’ve embedded below.
So what are your first impressions of Pirates Adventure?
Morning Thrill Seekers,
Today I got a little bit of time to sit down with our CTO and part time attraction tickets blogger, Karl Hendrie.
Karl is currently over seeing the total redesign of Orlando Attraction Tickets from the website and in house systems to our new logo and strap line, so as you can image his spare time is very limited at the moment.
We managed to talk about his last trip to Florida and briefly talk about his favourite Theme Park Rides, here’s his top 10 thrill rides.
- SheiKra at Busch Gardens
- Manta at SeaWorld, Orlando
- The Incredible Hulk Ride at Islands of Adventure
- Rock N’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Montu at Busch Gardens
- Rip Ride Rockit and Universal Studios
- Kraken at SeaWorld, Orlando
- Dragon Challenge at universal’s Islands of Adventure
- Cheetah Hunt at Busch Gardens
- The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Karl also wanted to mention that he really loved SeaVenture at Discovery Cove, the underwater tour obviously isn’t a Thrill Ride but Karl felt it was worthy of a mention, and who am I to argue 😉
Do you agree with Karls list?
What would your top 10 be?
Morning Thrill Seekers,
Last weekend saw Orlando Attraction Tickets hit a record number of bookings, revenue and tickets sent out. So as you can imagine we were quite happy. 🙂
I thought for today’s post it might be nice to see the journey your tickets make from booking online to leaving our offices.
The journey of your Orlando Attraction Tickets
Once a booking is made online our ticket dispatch team is notified, the first thing they do is prepare your order for shipping.
Your order then goes through two further stages of quality control to make sure your order is correct.
Your order is then prepared for tracking. All our tickets are sent via a traceable system, upon dispatch you will receive an email confirming this and also informing you of your unique tracking number, which you can monitor online.
Your tickets are now ready for dispatch and are delivered via Royal Mail.
All you have to do is look out for the letter containing the smiles 🙂 which generally takes 48 hours, a signature will be required upon delivery.
Orlando Attraction Tickets have the majority of tickets in stock throughout the year. We also offer a 25% deposit scheme with the balance paid 8 weeks prior to departure.
Morning Thrill Seekers,
Universal Studio’s are on a bit of a roll at the moment, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter has been a huge success and rumours about its expansion have Muggles everywhere scouring the internet for information, (we get our info from here – wizarding) they have already announced that their popular Transformers 3D ride will be opening in Orlando this year and speculation has them in talks to purchase the rights for a Middle Earth Land but could an existing section of Islands of Adventure be their secret jewel.
On my last visit to the Islands of Adventure I commented to a colleague that I thought Jurassic Park was on its last legs and would inevitably be replaced with an extension to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, in my opinion the Land had begun to look a little old when compared to its neighbour (WWHOP) and with the movie franchise all but a distant memory perhaps time had caught up on it…
However…. I came across a BBC article confirming that Jurassic Park 4 was in the works and is set to be released on the 13th June 2014! I remember watching the original and being amazed at the effects and that was over 10 years ago, imagine what they could do now! Obviously it will be in 3D.
As Universal own the rights to Jurassic Park (unlike Marvel and Harry Potter) it would make sense to relaunch this part of the park with new rides and new technology; remember the 3 Jurassic Park films grossed well over a Billion Dollars Worldwide making it one of the most successful trilogy’s of all time… there is definitely money to be made…
What do you think?
