What’s Happening This Christmas At Universal Orlando Resort

Hey Thrill Seekers,

Is it ever to early to talk about Christmas?

Last year Universal knocked Christmas out of the park and this year is going to be no different. Today Universal confirmed that many of last years favourites are making a return and the festivities will officially begin on November 17, 2018, until January 6, 2019.

Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Last year saw the very first projection mapping experience on Hogwarts Castle and it was AMAZING. This amazing experience will be returning and that’s not all at the Wizarding World. At Hogsmeade you can take in the festive décor, listen to the Frog Choir sing holiday themed songs and grab a Hot Butterbeer.

At Diagon Alley you’ll be able to immerse yourself in stunning holiday decoration and witness s the talented Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees sing their holiday hits.

Universal’s Holiday Parade Featuring Macy’s

Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s is returning to the streets of Universal Studios Florida. This colourful parade fills the streets with music, confetti, and some of your favourite characters, including the Despicable Me Minions, Shrek and Fiona, King Julien, the Penguins of Madagascar, and more!

And, of course, there’s a visit from Santa as he rides high in the sky on a beautiful float, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the holiday season.

Grinchmas at Universal’s Islands of Adventure

Aso making a return is Grinchmas. Hear the tale of the Grinch and help the Whos down in Whoville save Christmas during a wonderful live stage show. Sing along to all your favourite songs and get into the Grinchmas spirit.

Seuss Landing will also be decked out for Christmas by the bustling Whos as they get their final preparations in order for Christmas.

Mannheim Steamroller

Fan-favourite the Mannheim Steamroller will also be returning to perform live on the Music Plaza Stage. Their performances will take place on select night during the months of November and December.

Christmas is only 279 days away so you better start planning 😉

More Details Released on Universal’s Holiday Parade Featuring Macy’s!

Hey Thrill Seekers,

So just as I was planning tomorrows OAT live and literally writing the sentence ‘new line up & more details coming soon’ in relation to Universal’s Holiday Parade Featuring Macy’s, Universal decided to release the ‘more details.’ Way better than when they usually release cool stuff AFTER we finish ay!!

So what did we already know about The Holiday Parade? Well we knew it would star Minions, Santa, Madagascar and Shrek characters. Lora Sauls from Universal has said that they’ve been working on this parade for three years. “The new Universal’s Holiday Parade Featuring Macy’s is unlike any other parade that has been at Universal Orlando Resorts”

There is 16 new balloons that will soar above your heads and 13 of these balloons have been exclusively designed for Universal by Macy’s who are the global leader in balloon entertainment. Apparently the ‘Dronkeys’ from Shrek are ‘adorable’ cant wait to see them!!

“One of my favorite reactions is when people first see the floats – their jaws hit the floor! These 15 floats are HUGE. Each float has an astonishing lighting display and unique details to each theme.”

Near the end of your day in Universal Studios you’ll be able to catch the parade which will feature 100 performers and Santa will be making it snow! , it looks as though parade times may vary so be sure to check the app! Check out below what the Parade is going to entail…

Jingle All the Way With the Minions

The Minions are bringing mayhem to the holidays this year. You’ll hear them sing their own rendition of Jingle Bells as they attempt to decorate a Christmas tree. Look up and you’ll see Bob the Minion balloon chase after his favourite teddy bear, Tim. You’ll also see Lucy (for the first time ever), Gru and his daughters spreading holiday cheer.

Santa Claus is Coming to Madagascar

Up next, King Julien and the Madagascar crew are inviting you to a tropical holiday party. The Penguins are searching for Santa Claus, followed by King Julien who has gifted himself a giant pineapple balloon. The last float showcases Alex, Gloria, Marty and Melman celebrating the holidays like only they can.

Celebrate the Most Wonderful Time of Year with Shrek

Shrek, Fiona and their baby ogres are also celebrating the holidays in their swamp. Gingy leads the festivities from above with his gingerbread house float below. Donkey follows right behind with an assortment of gifts. Lastly, Shrek and Fiona share a massive float with Dragon while two of her Dronkey babies fly above.

Here Comes Santa Claus…With His Elves

Holiday favorites are also returning with a brand new look. Santa’s elves are inviting you into the workshop where you’ll see all your favorite toys come to life. Following close behind is Santa Claus himself. Santa’s float is beautiful when it lights up with all the reindeer!

Universal’s holiday celebrations start this Saturday 18th November and will run all the way through to the 6th January.

Christmas time at the parks

Hey Thrill Seekers,

In case you didn’t already know, I’m the biggest fan of Christmas in the office, to everyone else’s annoyance! So I was so happy when the big cheese gave me the OK to write the first Christmas blog of the year by finding out what the parks have got planned for Christmas 2016.

Let’s kick things off with Disney’s Hollywood Studios from the 14th November – 31st December, Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! It’s their amazing fireworks display including special effects and of course, holiday music. Watch as the buildings and rooftops come alive with scenes from Bambi, Cinderella and more.

Disney’s Epcot have their own ‘Winter Wonderland’ with their Candlelight Procession which is held here every year. Enjoy the Christmas Story being told to you by a 50 piece live orchestra along with a choir and a celebrity narrator. Don’t miss out on your BBQ dinner with this Christmas tour and finish off your evening by watching the stunning IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth across the World Showcase Lagoon.

Everyone knows that Disney’s Magic Kingdom has it’s spectacular events that are displayed at Christmas including Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Nothing can beat, in my opinion, the projection show shown on Cinderella’s castle. This brings everything to life with a dash of Tinkerbell’s pixie dust.

Mickeys-Very-Merry-Christmas-Party-10

If you’re heading over to Universal Studios this Christmas you will see The Macy’s Holiday Parade. Their parade is full of balloons, floats, marching bands, Santa and seasonal sing-alongs for the little ones too. There will be so much to look at you won’t know what to do with yourself! It’s a great event for all the family.

Next door at Universal’s Islands of Adventure they have The Grinchmas where there is a live retelling of Dr. Seuss’s classic ‘The Grinch’. The characters will come to life spreading the Christmas cheer!

maxresdefault

SeaWorld Orlando begin their festivities on the 25th November all the way through to the 31st including Winter Wonderland on Ice, Santas Fireside Feast, O Wondrous Night and Shamu’s Christmas Miracles.

Over at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay they have their Christmas Town festivities with singers, dancers, Santa and a traditional Christmas extravaganza inside Dragon-Fire Grill.

I know, you hate me for saying it, but as much as we try to put it to the back of our minds we have to come to terms with the fact that its on its way. For us here in the UK its a question of which supermarket will start playing Christmas songs first – and disgustingly enough it’s usually around this time of year too – well, anyway, I’ve brought you down enough, lets get back on track…The reason I mention the ‘C word’  is because Universal Orlando Resort have just announced their Holiday parade line-up.
