Hey Thrill Seekers,
I don’t think that there was a doubt in anyone’s mind that the top attraction would somehow be linked to Harry Potter.. The top attraction at Universal Studios is of course..
Harry Potter And The Escape From Gringotts.
This really is a surreal experience. You’ll start your journey by entering Gringotts bank which is where you will encounter goblins working hard in the lobby and then get ready for the mind blowing 3D, multi-dimensional ride.
You will feel as though you are in the centre of the action whilst manoeuvring through dark passageways and underground vaults. You’ll even meet Harry, Ron and Hermione.. but look out for Voldemort, Bellatrix and all of the other bad creatures and trolls who are the only things standing between you and your safe return!
This attraction is not only absolutely amazing for all hardcore Harry Potter fans but I think even if you have never seen a Harry Potter film you will still enjoy this breathtaking attraction.
Second Place: Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit – Pick a song, climb onto the ride, strap in and then you’ll begin your ascent until you reach the top where you will be 17 stories above Universal Studios. The next thing you know you will be reaching 65mph on your decent. This is a really cool, high-tech ride.
Third Place: Revenge of The Mummy – This ride really throws you in at the deep end. You’ll start in complete darkness, the only things you can see will be lit up by huge fireballs and they won’t be pleasant. You’ll also come face to face with the Mummy himself, a really thrilling ride.
Fourth Place: TRANSFORMERS: The Ride 3D – You will become a N*E*S*T recruit, and find yourself in the middle of a intergalactic war between the Autobots and Decepticons. This 3D ride is so futuristic and great fun!
Fifth Place: The Simpsons Ride – You get to ride along with the Simpsons family encountering surprise after surprise as you travel through Krustyland. Fun Fact.. This is the first ever attraction based on the Simpsons show!
Hey Thrill Seekers,
I’m not sure if you heard as its been kept very quiet but Universal Orlando are about to open The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley! As I’m sure you know the new area will feature London and Diagon Alley connected to Hogsmeade via the Hogwarts Express. We’re going out on a limb here but we think it might be a bit of a hit… 😉
Along with the Hogwarts Express Diagon Alley will also feature a new ride called Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts described as a mix between Revenge of the Mummy and Transformers the Ride 3d we believe that this ride will be very popular with guests.
Here at Orlando Attraction Tickets we like to know your opinions of the parks you visit which is why after every holiday we’ll send you a little email asking you to review your experiences, part of this review structure asks you to pick your favorite ride in each parks.
So today for prosperity I thought I’d show you the top 10 most voted for rides at Universal Studios Orlando before Diagon Alley opens and perhaps immediately secures top spot.
The top 10 is made up today of 160 unique votes, all voted for by verified Orlando Attraction Tickets customers.
So as you can see currently the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem is the top attraction at Universal Studios according to Orlando Attraction Tickets customers with Transformers the Ride 3d a close second.
I wonder how long it will take Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts or the Hogwarts Express to take the number 1 slot?
Hey Thrill Seekers,
It feels like everyday at the moment I’m posting something about a new video, and today is no exception. However I’m sure you’ll forgive me when I tell you its related to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Diagon Alley and the new ride Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts…
Yesterday, the Today show released a video promoting a competition they’re running in conjunction with Universal Orlando to win a trip to the opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley.
The video shows Al Roker (Presenter) explaining the competition in the interior of Gringotts Bank, as he walks around you can see in the background animatronic Goblin bankers doing what animatronic Goblins do… bank I guess!? Its quite surprising that Universal have allowed the interior to be filmed and shown without a big fan fair as this is the first time we’ve seen the interior of the Gringotts Bank.
Again, and I find myself repeating it, the attention to detail is amazing. The difference in realism between the Goblins depicted in the video and say the Dinosaurs of Jurassic Park are glaring.
I can’t wait to see the finished product and rumour has it that perhaps we’ll be told a confirmed opening date as early as next week!
UPDATED: Universal Release their own Goblin Video;
Remember, to ride the Hogwarts Express and enter the Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley you’ll require a multi park ticket, you can purchase a Universal 2 park bonus ticket from Orlando Attraction Tickets which will offer you unlimited access to Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios for 14 days.
Hey Thrill Seekers,
Social Media has been awash with excitement for today’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley Webcast ever since James Phelps (Fred Weasley) announced it would be happening.
We’ve speculated a lot on this blog about which details would be announced and finally Universal have confirmed the following;
Confirmation that Universal Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios will be linked via the Hogwarts Express, a multi park ticket will be required.
From the images we saw the attention to detail on the train is amazing as our pictures show. Thierry Coup presented a short walk through of inside the Hogwarts Express, the interior mirrors what you see in the film series.
We all new that the new area was Diagon Alley and London. Universal confirmed this along with a few shops
- Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour
- Flourish & Blotts
- Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions
- Magical Menagerie
- Quality Quidditch Supplies
- Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes.
They also confirmed that visitors will be able to take a walk on the darkside and visit Knockturn Alley and shop at Borgin and Burkes where Death Eater Masks will be available. One change to the current shops was that that Zonko’s at at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter would be moved into Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezers at Diagon Alley to allow for an expansion of Honeydukes at WWoHP.
The biggest piece of news was the annoucnement that the new ride at Gringotts will be called “Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts” and was described as a multi-dimensional ride! I’m also pretty sure that they said the Dragon at Gringotts will breath fire!!! Here are a couple of the artists renderings to give you an idea of the ride.
Still no official launch date but Universal confirmed that more information will be released.
