Top Secrets at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

Hey Thrill Seekers,

We’re coming to the end of my secret stories on the parks but before we go, we’ll take a look at Busch Gardens. Just like at SeaWorld, Busch Gardens cater for everyone! It’s probably the best park for thrill seekers and animal lovers! Although it’s about an hours drive from the other parks, it’s so worth it!

The thrill seekers have so many coasters at Busch Gardens including Falcon’s Fury, Cheetah Hunt, SheiKra, Montu, Kumba, Scorpion an the new Cobra’s Curse! Could you want anymore coasters in one park?! You’ve also got Congo River Rapids and Stanley Falls to cool you down with a bit of a splash too.

For all you animal lovers, Busch Gardens give you the chance to get up close and personal with some of the most beautiful animals in some once in a lifetime opportunities. Walkabout Way is just like being in Australia with all of the kookaburras, kangaroos and wallabies. Not only that but you can also hand feed the kangaroos and wallabies! Be sure to check out the feeding times in the morning when you enter the parks.

Serengeti Safari is a well known attraction at Busch Gardens but a lot of people still don’t know that there is an amazing feature on this safari where you can hand feed giraffes! That’s right..they will come over to you on your safari truck and eat right out of your hands!

Over at Jungala you can see some the most breathtaking endangered animals such as Bengal tigers and orangutans. You can even soar through the trees on Jungle Flyer. If you enter Jungala from the bridge and look closely at the water rocks you’ll see the word ‘Jungala’! šŸ˜‰

Just to show you even more of the care that they take over their animals, their Animal Care Centre is right inside the action in the park. You can go into the centre at any time of day (inside park opening hours of course) and if you’re there at the right time, you might even be able to watch the treatment. This could be anything from an x-ray to surgery!

Busch Gardens really is an incredible park that you will never forget!

Sadly, we have come to the end of our secrets but be sure to let us know of anything else that you find on your holidays!

5 Reasons Why I love Busch Gardens Tampa

Hey Thrill Seekers,

I’m often asked which is my favourite theme park in Florida. Most expect me to say Disney’s Magic Kingdom or Universal’s Islands of Adventure but its neither of these. Don’t get me wrong I truly love both of those parks, actually I can go a step further and say I love all the Florida theme parks but I do have a favourite.

My favourite park in Florida is Busch Gardens TampaĀ and today I thought I’d explain why its my number 1.

Serengeti SafariĀ

Your chance to get close and sometimes personal with some of the most beautiful and majestic animals you’d expect to see on the plains of Africa from Zebras, Eland, Ostriches to Rhinos and the stars of the show, the very friendly Giraffes.

I’ve been lucky enough to do this twice and feeding the Giraffes was the absolute highlight of my visits and for Coaster fans thats really saying something.

SheiKra

You’re not on this ride for a long time, you’re on it for a good time! Oh and it delivers in a BIG way.

SheiKra was North America’s very first dive coaster and it continues to be immensely popular. Standing at 200 feet tall and reaching a drop speed of up to 70mph with a 90 degree drop. SheiKra has been constantly voted one of the best rides in the World! I think the little delay before the big drop might have something to do with…

Prepare yourself to Shriek!!!

Sheikra Roller Coaster

IceplorationĀ

I’m not really one to sit and watch a show, for me it eats in to my Coaster riding time. So when I first sat down to watch Iceploration I had already decided I wasn’t going to like it…

I was wrong though, the story portrayed could be considered a little cheesy for British audiences but what you cannot take away from the extravaganza is the level of skill shown by the skaters. I honestly couldn’t take my eyes off it.

People

Everybody hates queuing and although I may have been extremely lucky I’ve never really had to queue that much at Busch Gardens. The theme park has so much to do that people tend to spread out across the park.

The other side to people are the actual people who work at the park, the guys and girls that guide you around the Serengeti Safari for example are warm, friendly and keen to share their experiences. I also found this to be the same for the majority of staff working at Busch Gardens, a smile goes a long way. šŸ™‚

All the other rides

Busch Gardens is a thrill seekers dream! SheiKra, Montu, Cheetah Hunt, Gwazi and Kumba all represents more thrill’s per park than any other in Florida…

…..Oh and of course….

Falcons Fury

The 335 foot tall face first drop ride due to open this year has had people talking since its announcement.

Ever Wondered How Many Calories You Burn Visiting Busch Gardens Tampa?

Morning Thrill Seekers,

Burning calories has never been so much fun! I burnt over 1000Ā caloriesĀ at Busch Gardens!Busch_Gardens_Tampa_logo

I know what you’re thinking, in order to burn over 1000 calories you should be running 10 miles or hiking up a huge hill or spending the day clearing out the loft (yes, its on my list of things to do too!) However, there is a better way!

Here at Orlando Attraction Tickets we just love interesting theme park data. So, on the 10th of June, as an experiment, we thought it would be interesting to find out just how many calories you could burn on an average day at a Florida theme park. Luckily for me I was spending a little time in Florida courtesy of our friends at SeaWorld Parks and Entertainments. On this particular day I was scheduled to be at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

So, 10 am I arrive at Busch Gardens. I am going to be using my Nike Fuel Band to record my daily steps and calorie burn. Hereā€™s how my day panned out, ride by ride;

1) Cheetah Hunt – Roller Coaster

Thrill seekers take note. One of the best roller coasters in Florida. So fast, and well worth the wait! This triple launch coaster carries riders high above the park and then races down along the ground through a rocky gorge. At a length of 4,400 feet, it is the parkā€™s longest thrill rides.

2) Iceploration – Show

As it was such a hot day, ducking out of the heat for a show seemed like perfect timing. Iceploration is an amazing show with some exceptionally talented cast members. This 30-minute show combines some of the most amazing aspects of the parkā€™s rich entertainment history, including world-class ice skaters, larger-than-life puppets, amazing costumes, gymnasts, original music and even real animal stars.

3) Serengeti Safari

The closets you’ll get to a real life Safari experience. The Serengeti Safari is set in 65 acre recreation of life on the home of the last great migration on earth. You’ll meet familiar favourites like zebras, giraffes and ostriches while learning about other exotic animal species. Make sure your camera is handy as you’ll grab some amazing pictures.

Break for lunch at the Zambia Smokehouse – if you like your ribs, this place is for you!

4) SheiKra – Roller Coaster

I love this ride! Climb 200 feet to the edge of a 90-degree drop that inches you mercilessly over the edgeā€”and stops! Then surrender to speed as you dive straight down into a 70 mph coaster whirlwind with an Immelmann loop, a second dive into an underground tunnel and a splashdown finale that drenches SheiKra fans queuing up to catch their own piece of the fun.

5) Animals

Take some time to view some of the amazing animal enclosures. I checked out the meerkats, Gorillas, Lions and elephants. I think itā€™s probably quite easy to fill up a whole day taking a lazy stroll round the park checking out the wildlife. You’ll get some stunning pictures too so make sure you have your camera handy!

6) Congo River Rapids – Water Ride

The best way to cool off on a hot day? head straight to the water rides of course and Congo River Rapids does not disappoint. Climb aboard for an exciting white water rafting expedition that will send you twirling down this raging river, where thrilling plunges, looming waterfalls and a mysterious water cave are just a few of the surprises it holds. Be warned – you will get wet!

So, there you have it. I actually burnt 1063 calories and took 14059 steps! But you know the most amazing thing is that it didn’t feel like I’d been exercising. I guess its all relative eh?

Just for the record, I suppose you should consider the fact that we are all different and we all burn calories at different rates. However, the next time you are at Busch Gardens and you suddenly fancy a nice cold ice cream, remember, you probably earned it šŸ˜‰
