Hey Thrill Seekers,
Today is the official launch of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley, it comes almost four years after Wizarding World of Harry Potter Hogsmeade took the theme park industry by storm and we just can’t wait.
One of the major attractions and a complete stroke of genius in my opinion is how guests can travel from Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure and Diagon Alley at Universal Studios (vice versa) the introduction of the Hogwarts Express not only adds to the whole Potter experience but also introduces a completely new way for visitors to enjoy a theme park! Its pretty easy for me to state that this is a first within any theme park.
What type of ticket do I require?
To ride the Hogwarts Express you’ll need to have purchased a multi park ticket. A multi park ticket is a ticket that allows you access to Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios on the same day.
Here at Orlando Attraction Tickets we only offer multi park tickets so you’re safe in the knowledge that you’ll be able to access the Hogwarts Express as many times as you like 🙂
The tickets shown above all offer 14 consecutive days unlimited entry into both parks.
The Hogwarts Express ride offers two completely different ride experiences depending upon which way you’re travelling (Hogsmeade to Diagon Alley and Vice Versa). The initial reviews have all remarked on how realistic the train journey feels and looks which is no surprise when it comes to Universal.
This is set to be one of the most popular attractions of 2014, if you’re lucky enough to ride it please remember to let us know what you thought. 🙂
There’s something brewing in Orlando and its getting stronger!
Universal have today launched a national television campaign in the USA to promote the much anticipated opening of the expansion of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The 30 second commercial bills The Wizarding World of Harry Potter featuring; Hogsmeade, The Hogwarts Express and Diagon Alley. This is the first visual to encompass the whole park experience.
The commercial describes the new features to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter as; Bigger, bolder and more powerful than ever! and to be honest its pretty much looking that way 🙂
Still no official launch date has been released the commercial is also pretty vague stating that the expansion will open summer 2014. However, as always we like to speculate on these things and we believe that is will open sometime in June.
We’ll keep you posted on this one 😉
On Friday Tom Schroder, Vice President of Public Relations at Universal Orlando tweeted pictures of his lunch!!
Yep thats right, his lunch… how boring you might think… usually I’d agree but on this occasion is was a special lunch. Some might say a magical lunch! Not me though cos that would be really cheesey 😉
The reason this lunch was of interest was where he had it…
Tweeting “Can you guess what I’m getting to try for lunch today ?” accompanied by this photo;
Tom got the internet buzzing with this very old English menu, words like Diagon Alley, Wizarding and most importantly Leaky Cauldron were flying around like (dare i say it?) broomsticks in a quidditch match (I dared).
The menu looks delicious and just how you’d imagine a wizards meal to look. Hats off again to Universal who always set the bar high when it comes to attention to detail.
Tom wasn’t finished though;
For those with a sweet tooth, Tom gave us a mouthwatering look at the puddings. As one of our facebook friends put it
I gained about 4lbs just looking at that! Yum
Universal still haven’t confirmed the exact date Diagon Alley will open but we’re still guessing at an ambitious late June date.
Hey Thrill Seekers,
Today we listened, watched, took furious notes and wrote this post about today’s webcast… We were pretty pleased with our work and patted each other on the back for getting all the key parts down in very little time…
However if we’d waited, we could of just posted this…
Hey Thrill Seekers,
Two days before the highly anticipated Webcast where we expect to learn a lot more about Diagonal Alley, Universal have released their 4th video clip promoting this years must see attraction.
The trailer, “Prepare to go” doesn’t give much away officially but does offer a sense of what we can expect!
By featuring aspects of the film I think we can safely assume it will stick to this brief… But we’ll hopefully know for sure on Thursday.
Hey Thrill Seekers,
Since Friday we’ve been inundated with pictures of the front of the new expansion to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Diagon Alley. On the 17th Jan 2014 Universal took down the scaffolding to allow us all to get a better look at the work they’ve been doing… and its pretty awesome.
The level of detail, as you can already see, is quite impressive and we can only assume that this continues throughout the whole expansion. I wonder if we’ll get more information this Thursday when Universal host their Wizarding World Webcast?
Evening Thrill Seekers,
Hot off the press tonight is Universal’s first official trailer for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley called Empty Spaces.
The trailer has a slightly eerie feel to it and has the sort of attitude you’d expect from Universal. The trailer depicts other parks being empty and deserted hence the Empty Places title and goes with the tagline “This Summer….will be the end of vacation as you know it”
Although the teaser doesn’t give any further clues I like the confidence Universal are going with. “we’re expecting great things from you Harry…” oops I mean Universal.
Universal are really cranking up the marketing on the Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley the next phase of the extremely popular theme park land found at Universal’s Islands of Adventure and (soon) Universal Studios.
On Friday they released this video confirming some details we’d already reported on here. Today though they enlisted the help of Fred Weasley (James Phelps) to let us know about a special event that will be taking place on the 23rd January 2014, in the video James states that Universal will be holding a very special webcast where viewers will get a sneak peak inside Diagon Alley!!!
Check out the video here;
So forget Christmas…. 23rd January is when we get really excited 🙂
Evening Thrill Seekers,
Universal rightly want to keep the launch date of the next phase of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter as quiet as possible, there are a couple of reasons for this. Firstly they don’t want to put people off planning a trip and secondly they don’t want to commit to a date and then have to disappoint thousands of travellers if for some unforeseen circumstance they miss the date.
Back in March I posted about an incident with Orlando Mayor, Buddy Dyer who accidently let slip that the next phase would open in 2014 not exactly what Universal would have wanted but lightening couldn’t strike twice surely?
Ooops, it looks like it can!
Yesterday Jonathan Tisch Loews Hotels Chairman appeared on CNBC to talk about the companies future and the plans they have with Universal regarding the launch of Cabana Bay Beach Hotel, he mentioned that phase one of the hotel launch would occur in April….Then he said this;
Phase two will happen in June when Harry Potter 2 opens.
Although we’ve been reporting June 2014 as the date for the official opening here at Orlando Attraction Tickets its the first time someone in the know has confirmed our suspicions.
So JUNE 2014 will be the month of POTTER!!!!
Hi Thrill Seekers,
As mentioned on Monday our own Karl Hendrie is off to sample Halloween Horror Nights this week. Although we’re all excited to hear how he gets on we’re also keen to see if he can get some new snaps of the construction work going on at Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios where the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter expansion is being built.
Well just to whet your appetite, here are some recent pictures taken by the fantastic folks at Orlando United that show how far they’ve come since the last Potter images.
Some great aerial shots I’m sure you’ll agree, you can make out the train stations at Hogwarts and Kings Cross very clearly and the train track which will connect the two.
I don’t know about you but I can’t wait for this to open…
