Hey Thrill Seekers!
Universal are always making every effort to upgrade and better their parks. Be it upgrading existing attractions or replacing them they’re always looking forward.
Terminator 2 3D: Battle across Time is the second oldest attraction (after E.T Adventure and various stage shows) at Universal Studios and appears to be the next attraction on Universals list of closures as they have confirmed today that the 8th October will be the last day that guests can experience the 21 year old show.
What will replace Terminator 2 3D do we think? Universal haven’t officially confirmed anything however there are various hints towards an “all-new live-action experience based on a high-energy Universal franchise,” which will open in 2019.
Terminator 2: 3-D at Universal Studios Florida will run its last shows on Sunday, October 8 to make way for an all-new live action experience based on a high-energy Universal franchise. It will open in 2019. This is one of many exciting new experiences coming to Universal Orlando Resort as we continue our epic growth. Stay tuned – more details will be released soon.
When Battle across Time first debuted in April 1996 (it’s the same age as me!!) it was instantly one of Universal’s biggest hits. It’s popularity has got to be down to the combination of live actors, audio animatronics, 3D film footage and practical effects there is also the infamous ‘seat drop’.
It will be sure to be a sad goodbye to a long standing ride but it’s always exciting knowing that there is going to be something new in its place!!
Terminator 2 3D: Battle across Time closes on October 8 2017.
Are you sad to hear of its closure or excited for what’s to come?!
