Everything you need to know about Gatorland

Hey Thrill Seekers,

Adventure Calls. Answer the Call.

So as we have an amazing offer on at the moment for FREE Gatorland General Admission per person when you spend over £500 this January, I thought I would give you the run down on why this is such a great park to visit.

Even if you don’t know a lot about Gatorland, i’m sure you’ll be familiar with the famous Gator mouth entrance!

Gatorland is the renowned ‘Alligator capital of the world’ it was founded by
Owen Godwin in 1949, and still privately owned by his family today! It is the best place to see alligators and crocodiles of all sizes, from babies, to the 14-foot monsters that call our Breeding Marsh home. They even have the largest collection of extremely rare white leucistic alligators.  But, Gatorland is more than just a gator park!  They have a free-flight aviary, petting zoo, one-of-a-kind animal shows, thrilling Screamin’ Gator Zip Line and new Stompin’ Gator Off-Road Adventure to ensure your day will be full of fun, smiles and special memories!

The animals you will encounter when visiting Gatorland.

Did you know – A baby alligator is called a Grunt. (cute huh 😉 )

There is also a lot of extra activities and experiences to do at Gatorland – i’ve popped my favourite ones below.

Screamin’ Gator Zip Line

This experience is an extra cost but totally worth it! Here’s what it includes:

  • Launch from heights of up to 65 feet
  • Soar across five intense zip lines ranging in length from 230 feet to more than 500 feet, and carefully cross a swinging bridge over the park’s main walkway
  • Fly over alligators and crocodiles at speeds near 30 miles per hour. Equipment (helmet and harness) provided
  • Just minutes from area hotels, theme parks, and the Orlando International Airport

Gator Gauntlet

Soar 350 feet through the air and defy gravity while gliding over the Alligator Breeding Marsh, complete with one hundred and thirty giant alligators watching from below! “That’s one wild ride!”

STOMPIN’ GATOR OFF-ROAD ADVENTURE

This is one of my personal favourite things to do at Gatorland. It is truly hilarious!
Gatorland guests can board one of three, 12-foot-high custom-made, off-road monster vehicles for a 15-minute rugged and hilarious adventure like no other theme park ride anywhere. This exciting ride is chocked full of wacky new Gatorland characters, singing tour guides, swampy adventure, and, of course, lots of alligators. Each vehicle is specially branded and named after iconic real alligators and crocodiles at Gatorland, including Bonecrusher ℠, Cannibal Jake, and Swamp Ghost ℠

Gator Night Shine

Armed with only a flashlight and gator food, you bravely make your way along the winding wooden walkways of Gatorland’s Alligator Breeding Marsh. The sounds of the night come alive around you as the rustle of feathers overhead and the splashing of water nearby signal that you are not alone.
Turning your flashlight towards the water, you suddenly become aware of hundreds of hungry, glowing, red eyes slowly making their way closer… it’s now your turn to experience the ‘real Florida.

Gatorland is open from 10am – 5pm 365 days of the years come rain or shine. It is located around 20 – 30 minutes away from International Drive. Gatorland, 14501 S Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, FL 32837, United States

NEW Stompin’ Gator Off Road Adventure now open at Gatorland!

Hey Thrill Seekers,

On the 13th December The Alligator capital of the world celebrated the official opening of the Stompin’ Gator Off-Road Adventure ride and Gator Joe’s Adventure Outpost as part of their $2.2 million park expansion.

Visitors to Gatorland can now hop on one of three 12 foot tall off road monstor vehicles which are custom made just for Gatorland (i’m now realising it may be pretty difficult to ‘hop’ on one) to embark on a ’15 minute rugged and hilarious adventure like no other theme park ride anywhere. Gatorland have said that “this exciting ride is chocked full of wacky new Gatorland characters, singing tour guides, swampy adventure, and, of course, lots of alligators. Each vehicle is specially branded and named after iconic real alligators and crocodiles at Gatorland, including Bone crusher, Cannibal Jake, and Swamp Ghost. (My fave is definitely Bone crusher)”

With every great ride comes a story line. The story line for Stompin’ Gator Off-Road Adventure is a journey in to the world of ‘gator gardens’ which is a fictional rival park that has taken over a swamp buggy business from a new Gatorland character called ‘Swampy Sal’ who you’ll be attempting to find. Guests will be taken on an adventure like no other through unexpected twists and turns, through a alligator graveyard and a pond of hungry gators (probably a good thing you’ll be 12 feet in the air at this point) . Gatorland are confident that guests will be laughing the whole way through with a comedic plot, monser vehicle drivers and on board personal guides. The cost for a child/adult ticket will be $10.00 and guests will need to be a minimum of 36 inches to ride. You can purchase tickets from the parks admission gate or from Gator Joes Adventure Outpost.

The vehicles for the Stompin’ Gator Off Road Adventure will depart from Gatorlands brand new ‘Gator Joe’s Adventure Outpost’ which is now the home for all Gatorlands add-on’s such as the Screamin’ Gator Zip Line, Adventure Hour, Trainer for the Day and Gator Night Shine.

Gator Joe’s Adventure Outpost is named after Ernest “Gator Joe”Brown, who was hired by Owen Godwin Sr. – Gatorland’s founder, to work at the park. Brown was known all over Central Florida, especially throughout Kissimmee and Osceola County, as Gator Joe because of his great love and expertise with alligators. Gator Joe raised thousands and thousands of baby gators at Gatorland. He had a special knack for getting them to eat and grown quickly. When he hollered “GATOR! GATOR BOY!” across the lakes, every gator would swim as fast as they could to meet him. Gator Joe worked at Gatorland from 1958 until shortly before he passed away in 2013.For lmost 60 years, Gator Joe and his family’s influence on Gatorland has run long and deep, with some of his family still working at Gatorland today.

This looks like an absolute BLAST and I would love to do this, it’s definitely on my list of things to do on my next trip to Orlando! Don’t forget, you’ll need your Gatorland admission ticket too!

What do you think.. Would you give it a go?

Smiles included,

Abby

Do You Really Mean All The Parks?

Hey Thrill Seekers,

A lot of our customers ask for a ticket that includes ‘all of the parks’ without realising how many parks there actually are. Ticket purchasing can become quite complicated when you aren’t aware of all the parks and attractions, especially if you’re a first timer. We have ‘The Big Three’, Disney, Universal and SeaWorld but there is so much more!

Let’s take a look at the big three first.

Walt Disney World actually consists of 6 parks in total, 4 theme parks, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and 2 water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. All of our Disney tickets include all 6 of these parks, we do not offer single day or single park tickets.

Disney’s Magic Kingdom is the park to explore lands of endless enchantment, where your fantasy becomes a reality.

Disney’s Epcot allows you to travel around the globe, under the sea, into outer space…and beyond!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom will amaze you, behold the magic of nature with rare animals and world-class entertainment.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios puts you smack bang in the middle of the action, take center stage in the world of movies, television, music and theater.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is a storm ravaged tropical bay while Disney’s Blizzard Beach is a melting ski resort.

Disney

Moving onto Universal now with their 2 theme parks, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. These 2 parks are joint together using The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and the Hogwarts Express. You must have a hopper ticket to ride the Hogwarts Express, which is of course, what we offer! 🙂

Tip: Ride the Hogwarts Express both ways to encounter two completely different experiences. 😉

Universal Studios is where you can jump into the action of your favourite movies and TV shows’. At the back of the park you will find yourself in Diagon Alley.

Universal’s Islands of Adventure is where you can live the adventure. Towards the back of this park you will be in Hogsmeade.

Universal’s Volcano Bay is the newest park which is due to open on the 1st June 2017. Water is life. Life is joy.

universal

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment have a total of 4 parks including SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Discovery Cove.

SeaWorld Orlando has a mixture of thrill rides, family rides and animal interactions. SeaWorld rescue a lot of animals from the wild to treat them and then release them back into the wild.

Aquatica is SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment’s water park which is themed to the Southern Pacific and features Australian and New Zealand mascots that you can spot relating to each attraction.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is about an hour out of Orlando but so worth the journey! The 19th century African themed park is also, like SeaWorld, a mixture of the thrill and family rides as well as the animal encounters. All of the SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is suitable for all the family.

Tip: We offer these parks at an amazing 3 parks for the price of 2 offer which entails free parking!

Discovery Cove is an amusement park where guests can completely relax with an all inclusive day and have the choice to ‘talk, touch, play and swim with bottlenose dolphins’.

There are 2 Discovery Cove packages available, 1 including 14 days into SeaWorld and Aquatica and our Ultimate package including 14 days into SeaWorld, Aquatica and Busch Gardens.

Tip: You can make the most of the free parking with our Ultimate Package as well. 😉
