Univesal Owners Comcast Confirm Plans For New Theme Park

Hey Thrill Seekers,

It’s been the worst kept secret in the world so it was nice that Comcast today in their quarter 2 earnings call confirmed they were looking at opening a 4th gate in Orlando, the already have Universal Studios, Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay, to turn Universal Orlando Resort from a 2 or 3 day visit to a weeks visit.

Steve Burke NBCUniversal CEO stated;

In terms of a new gate in Florida, we are looking at it. We filed, basically, a name registration, we have a lot of great I.P. We love the theme park business, it’s one of our best, most-consistent businesses, and we think we have a very long runway. Another gate in Florida would have the advantage of turning Florida from a two- or three-day destination to potentially a week-long destination,” he continued. “We think that that would be attractive.

The internet is obviously awash with rumours as to what this 4th gate could be called and quite a few are pointing to a Universal trademark submitted in June for the name “Fantastic Worlds” but this obviously could be a nod to the Potter franchise Fantastic Beasts. Another suggestion was sighted as Universal’s Epic Universe as a nod to the kind of buzz words being used by Universal employee’s. One things for sure a new park with the amount of IP Universal are sitting on will be TOTES EXCITING!!!!

Smiles included…

Jamie
