This weekend saw Disney’s Magical Marathon take place, the 26.2 mile course that takes in much of Disney actually represented the 20th anniversary of the event.

The race capped a magical weekend of running events, parties and family entertainment to mark the milestone. The four-day event drew more than 65,000 runners, including celebrities and famous running legends.

The Marathon was won by Disney Marathon Legend Adriano Bastos (Brazil) in an impressive 2 hours 21 Mins, Adriano beat off stiff competition from fellow countryman and training partner Fredison Costa for his seventh Disney Marathon win in the past nine years and eighth overall!

To keep the Marathon fresh Disney’s “RunDisney” crew introduced a   new course, a new finisher’s medal, a post-race party at Downtown Disney and spectacular entertainment along Mile 20, where things really get tough.

The 20th Disney Marathon also marked a first for the event where female entrants out numbered the men, with Disney reporting 57% of runners being Women, well done Ladies 🙂

Almost makes me want to run one myself…. almost 😉
