Afternoon Thrill Seekers,

As we enter the downhill portion of 2013 here at Orlando Attraction new for 2014Tickets we’ve been looking ahead to what we think may be revealed in 2014.

Universal

The big announcement for 2014 will undoubtedly be the expansion of Universal’s most popular land, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, we’ve been reporting throughout  2013 about the new plans ever since we first got official confirmation. If you don’t know, Universal are planning to extend their existing offering by cleverly linking Islands of Adventure to Universal Studios via a hogwarts express!

On so many levels this plan is genius, it not only gives the Wizarding World an additional boost but also helps footfall for Universal Studio’s who despite the opening of Transformers the Ride 3D has been playing second fiddle to Harry and his chums, to be fair though most parks would.

Last year Universal shut down their iconic ride Jaws in preparation of building Diagon Alley, construction is fully up and running as our pictures show here,  and is expected to house a new indoor coaster based on Gringotts Bank.

We’re hearing a possible opening date is June 2014.

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment

SeaWorld owned Busch Gardens in Tampa is planning on revealing its new attraction, Falcon Fury in 2014. The 350 foot drop ride offers brave souls a unique experience by altering the usual riding position (seated) to face down! Gulp! At speeds of up to 60 mph the ride is designed to mimic the swoop of a Falcon…

Although we don’t have a lot of information yet, Aquatica should be getting a  new, tall attraction in 2014. ~A spokesman for SeaWorld’s water park confirmed that the company will reveal more about it Friday but park employees were clued in Thursday morning.

Many of them then posted on Twitter and other social media using a #NothingTaller hashtag

Disney

Disney have been investing heavily in new technology, rather than spend on new rides Disney have spent Billions of Dollars updating their tickets with RFID chips.  Not only will this allow customers to move quickly around the parks it will also allow some customers to pre book ride times up to 60 days before their visit!

Disney should also complete the full roll out of Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom, the land will offer richer, more immersive experiences and will introduce a wider array of characters. Instead of simple meet-and-greets, the new mini-lands will envelop guests in the worlds of Disney’s classic films and get them involved in hands-on adventures.

So lots to look forward too, although I suspect no one will want to add anything major when up against a new Harry Potter expansion! As always we’ll keep you posted with further developments.

Smiles included,

Jamie
