Top Secrets at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

Hey Thrill Seekers,

We’re coming to the end of my secret stories on the parks but before we go, we’ll take a look at Busch Gardens. Just like at SeaWorld, Busch Gardens cater for everyone! It’s probably the best park for thrill seekers and animal lovers! Although it’s about an hours drive from the other parks, it’s so worth it!

The thrill seekers have so many coasters at Busch Gardens including Falcon’s Fury, Cheetah Hunt, SheiKra, Montu, Kumba, Scorpion an the new Cobra’s Curse! Could you want anymore coasters in one park?! You’ve also got Congo River Rapids and Stanley Falls to cool you down with a bit of a splash too.

For all you animal lovers, Busch Gardens give you the chance to get up close and personal with some of the most beautiful animals in some once in a lifetime opportunities. Walkabout Way is just like being in Australia with all of the kookaburras, kangaroos and wallabies. Not only that but you can also hand feed the kangaroos and wallabies! Be sure to check out the feeding times in the morning when you enter the parks.

Serengeti Safari is a well known attraction at Busch Gardens but a lot of people still don’t know that there is an amazing feature on this safari where you can hand feed giraffes! That’s right..they will come over to you on your safari truck and eat right out of your hands!

Over at Jungala you can see some the most breathtaking endangered animals such as Bengal tigers and orangutans. You can even soar through the trees on Jungle Flyer. If you enter Jungala from the bridge and look closely at the water rocks you’ll see the word ‘Jungala’! 😉

Just to show you even more of the care that they take over their animals, their Animal Care Centre is right inside the action in the park. You can go into the centre at any time of day (inside park opening hours of course) and if you’re there at the right time, you might even be able to watch the treatment. This could be anything from an x-ray to surgery!

Busch Gardens really is an incredible park that you will never forget!

Sadly, we have come to the end of our secrets but be sure to let us know of anything else that you find on your holidays!

Still To Come In 2016…

Hey Thrill Seekers,

2016 has got off to a flyer here at Orlando Attraction Tickets, we literally can’t get the tickets out the door fast enough 🙂 The appetite for Florida from the UK market seems stronger than ever and we’re obviously delighted.

Disney, Universal and SeaWorld are all currently innovating like there’s no tomorrow. The introduction of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter seems to have not only helped Universal but also galvanised the Orlando theme park industry as a whole. Setting new standards of excellence seems to have inspired every park to up their game, which can only benefit us all.

What’s still to come

This week SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment gave us sneak peaks at the ride cars for their Summer coasters, Mako (at SeaWorld) and Cobra’s Curse (at Busch Gardens). These two new attractions are a breath of fresh air for us coaster nuts especially Mako which claims to be the fastest, tallest and longest coaster in Orlando

20160216_MakoRideVehicleReveal_088 Over at Universal Orlando Resort we got confirmation of the dates Halloween Horror Nights will operate this year plus pricing for their Frequent Fear Pass and 2 Park Bonus plus Halloween Horror Nights tickets both of which are now available on Orlando Attraction Tickets.

This summer we’re also expecting to see the rebirth of the Incredible Hulk Coaster which has been down for a few months as Universal complete a total revamp of this iconic coaster.

Hulk-track-1170x731

Also set for an official opening this summer at Universal’s Islands of Adventures is the highly anticipated Skull Islands: Reign of Kong. Still not much is known about the attraction but the attention to detail we’ve spotted around the build site leads us to think we may have another Potter Land on our hands…. Eeeeekk!

Skull-Island-Reign-of-Kong-Main-Image_LR1-1170x731

Disney’s major projects wont be launched for a few years yet, however they do have a little thing called Frozen up their sleave…. set to be called “Frozen Ever After.” The Maelstrom ride, located in the Norway pavilion of the World Showcase, will be renovated into this new attraction based on Disney’s popular animated film. The ride will take guests to Arendelle during the kingdom’s Winter Festival, featuring favourite characters and music from the film, all with cutting-edge technology.

So all the parks have something new and interesting to offer guests visiting in 2016… We’ll keep you all updated as soon as we can give definitive opening dates but one things for sure… its going to be awesome!

Jeff Andrews, Vice President Zoological Operations at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay said;

The snake exhibit at Cobra’s Curse will allow us to combine the best of what Busch Gardens has to offer – animals and thrill rides. This exhibit will give our guests an unforgettable experience while opening up discussion around conservation and education by highlighting the species and their important role in the wild, which is our top priority.

Guests will be just inches away from the 400-cubic-foot snake exhibit which will include Jameson’s mambas, Angolan pythons and rhinoceros and gaboon vipers. The design of the multi-level exhibit not only reflects the theme of the ride, but also features several animal husbandry and enrichment components designed with the snakes’ welfare in mind, including naturalistic design elements, controlled heat sources and humidity control.

This spin coaster is the only one of its kind in the world, featuring a vertical lift and taking riders on a whirlwind adventure of exciting explorations. Located in the Egypt area of the park, explorers will come face-to-face with an 80-foot snake icon, trek over the park’s Serengeti Plain® and discover the mysteries of an Egyptian archaeological excavation.

Cobra’s Curse Update

Hey Thrill Seekers,

Busch Gardens Tampa have provided us with another update on their soon to be unveiled spinning coaster Cobra’s Curse.

2016_busch_gardens_tampa_cobras_curse_construction_08-450x300

On site, the block walls for the maintenance building are complete and roof trusses have been installed. The ride track in the station and maintenance have been set as well. Last week, Busch Gardens temporarily closed down the Egyptian area of the park so they could install underground utilities and pour new pathways.

Busch Gardens also told us that fan favourite Montu will get some tender love and care while this area is closed. Once its re-opened we are expecting a very different looking area.

2016_busch_gardens_tampa_cobras_curse_construction_09-450x240

That winding s-curve motion is what propels snakes forward. Those same curves of the ride track will cause the ride vehicles to spin wildly through the ride course. The more ride track they set, the more the winding ride layout takes shape. You can see in these photos how the ride snakes itself through trenches and buildings

2016_busch_gardens_tampa_cobras_curse_construction_11-450x301

Busch Gardens told us that the focus for next month will be the assembly of the vertical lift and stair tower. This vertical lift is a one-of-a-kind design that acts much like an outdoor elevator lifting guests up 70 feet to begin ride journey.

I love watching attractions come together and we’ll continue to update you on their progress during the upcoming months.

Kind regards,

Jamie

Check Out These New Images Of Busch Gardens Cobra’s Curse

Hey Thrill Seekers,

At least once every hour I look outside my office window and think… I wish I was in Florida… Well today I doubly wish I was there as IAAPA kicked off just a couple of hours ago.

IAAPA is the largest international trade association for amusement parks, attractions, and other leisure and family entertainment facilities. Basically its where all the cool attractions, coasters and rides get displayed to the industry. It’s pretty much my equivalent of a “kid in a candy shop”.

The real interest for us was an update on Cobra’s Curse, the spinning family coaster set to open at Busch Gardens Tampa next year. The company who are building the coaster, Mack Rides, took the opportunity to reveal a great looking model of the coaster.

11248945_10153763693248493_6686609396639584141_n 12246905_10153763701733493_6281169135139019305_n (1) 12274704_10153763701718493_5121983175982945288_n (1) 12243581_10153763701988493_7045880078829648376_n 12250036_10153763701938493_7229605201491188393_n

What this model shows us

  • Did you notice the “outward-banked turn” that puts riders perilously close to the jaws of the monstrous, 80-foot-tall statue of the snake king Venymyss?
  • Wondering what that tower is? Each train is lifted vertically, to a height of 70 feet!
  • During the three-and-a-half-minute ride, the coaster trains speed along at 40 mph, spinning backward, forward and then freely
  • Each train spins randomly, with frequency and direction determined by the rider weight distribution.

I can’t wait to be able to ride Cobra’s Curse, 2016 looks like its going to be a great year to head to Florida.
