Hey Thrill Seekers,

I’m never silly enough to think I know everything about Universal Orlando but I was pretty sure there wasn’t anything they offered that I wasn’t at least aware of! Well my flabber was truly gasted when I discovered the wall climb!

Back in March Universal posted on their own blog about Rock Wall Climbing, I literally had never heard they did this. I thought perhaps I was just out of the loop, I asked around the office and it appeared none of us were aware of it!

So I thought to myself, if I don’t know about it and my colleagues don’t know about it perhaps some of our readers don’t know about it… here’s the lowdown.

Universal Studios

Hidden in the streets of the New York area right next to The Revenge of the Mummy ride, you can face your fear of heights by climbing a three-story rock wall.

Once harnessed and helmets securely fastened, climbers use the bricks which jut out to scale the building. If you’re in a competitive mood the winner is the first to ring the bell at the top.

Islands of Adventure

Head over to Jurassic Land and just a few steps away from Jurassic Park River Adventure you’ll find another chance to scale. Since this wall was also near the Camp Jurassic play area, there were a few more kids climbing.

According to Universal the climb isn’t the end of the fun but just the beginning;

One of the scariest/most fun parts of the climb is being at the top and letting go of the wall. There is a moment right before you push off when you think to yourself, “I am about to jump off this three story wall, what am I thinking?” But after a few seconds of doubt, I pushed off and safely touched down to the ground.

Did you know about the wall climbing at Universal & if not will you be trying it on your next visit?

Smiles included…

Jamie
