Hey Thrill Seekers,
Like it or not we’re in and heading towards an AI future, get with it Grandad!!! Theme Parks are already using AI behind the scenes for capacity control, maintenance management and chatbots but what else could we see in the future…
In this post we’re going to reimagine VelociCoaster for an AI audience. What could VelociCoaster look like in 2035?
Before you board
The queue is no longer in the background, it’s a mainevent while at the same time reading the room.
- Computer vision tracks crowd energy, time of day, weather.
- Raptor Trainers will be able to recognise what you’re wearing or your height (for example) and reference that so you’re fully immersed. “Oooh the Raptors will love that one, they love a bright red t-shirt”.
- The pre-show dialogue subtly changes (cockier at night, more playful midday).
- The Raptors themselves on screens lock eyes with you.
You’re not guests. You’re being assessed.
The Ride Vehicle
Same iconic trains, but now:
- Individual seat sensors read posture and tension. Using data collected from riders you could have an individual interactive experience where the ride reacts to the rider’s physical state (e.g., tension), making the guest a part of the adventure.
- Audio is spatial and personalized (raptor breathing closer on your left than your right)
- Micro-vibrations simulate claws, tail swipes, or footsteps—felt, not seen
The ride knows when you’re bracing… and either makes the experience more chaotic or less depending upon your demeanour.
Every ride has the chance to be different
Each time you ride VelociCoaster it has the potential to be different by using AI-driven story rules you could ride it 20 times and never have the same experience;
- Raptors “choose” different hunting strategies
- Dialogue changes based on:
- Your train’s speed variance
- How the previous train reacted
- Whether it’s your first or fifth ride
- Near-miss moments get tighter or looser depending on guest tolerance
The coaster is still safe but the illusion of danger scales.
The Mosasaurus Roll (Reimagined)
For those who aren’t familiar the Mosasaurus Roll is the signature, high-speed heartline roll on VeloiCoaster. It inverts riders at 53 mph directly over the lagoon, providing intense airtime that makes riders feel as if they are diving into the water. In this reimagined VelociCoaster the roll becomes a dynamic set piece.
- Projection-mapped water + wind + mist
- A raptor almost collides mid-roll—or veers away last second
- At night, bioluminescent lighting turns the lagoon into a glowing hunt zone
Imagine socials blowing up with different people telling different stories of how they survived the Mosasaurus roll.
Ending Variations
You don’t always “win.”
- Sometimes the pack escapes
- Sometimes a raptor sacrifices itself to save the others
- Sometimes you trigger the finale by leaning or reacting
- Sometimes the noise level created on the ride will effect the outcome
The final roar you hear? Chosen in real time based on how terrified the train was.
As you exit the ride
The Universal app updates instantly:
- “Pack Survival Rating” a sharable percentage score, showing your person score and the group score.
- Heat map of where you screamed or laughed
- Replay clips auto-edited with your seat POV
Re-riding becomes irresistible, can you beat your score? Can you unlock badges such 10th ride, screamer and pack leader.
Would you ride our reimagined VelociCoaster, which bit excites you most?
Smiles included…
Jamie
