Hey Thrill Seekers,
Exciting news! Starting May 12th, 2026, both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon will be open simultaneously for the summer season. This is just the second time since the pandemic that they’ve been open simultaneously.
This Sunday, 15th February 2026, Typhoon Lagoon will close for refurbishment but don’t worry because Blizzard Beach opens on the same day and with temps finally warming up after that unusual Floridian cold spell, I know where i’d rather be!
When and how long will they be open for?
Disney hasn’t announced how long both parks will be open together for, but they have confirmed they’ll be open “all summer long.” If you’re visiting from the 12th May 2026, what better way to beat the heat than by enjoying one or both of these fantastic waterparks?

Blizzard Beach (open from February 15th 2026)
Spanning 66 acres and built around the mythical tale of a one-time ski resort that melted into soothing water Blizzard Beach is themed so well, just looking at photos takes me back to cooling off in this park on a hot hot hot summers day in Orlando!

For the little ones in the family, there’s a dedicated space just for them! Join Anna and Elsa in their igloo castle for a Frozen-themed hangout at Tike’s Peak.
For the thrill-seekers, challenge your family to a race down the 250-foot-long Toboggan Racers or get all the brave points by taking on Mount Gushmore in Summit Plummet.

Typhoon Lagoon (Open from 12th May 2026)
This park is themed around the idea that a typhoon has struck a once pristine tropical Placid Palms Resort, leaving Miss Tilly (the water park’s icon shrimp boat), stuck on top of an erupting geyser, while fishing gear, surfboards and boats have been “tossed” about the park. Within its 56-acre design you’ll find a, central surf pool, meandering, rustic-styled water features and the biggest wavepool everrrr!

One of the newer attractions is a 4 person family raft ride.
Gather your crew and climb aboard for a thrilling, white-water voyage. A family-raft attraction owned by Captain Mary Oceaneer—a sea-faring treasure hunter whose haul was caught in a rogue typhoon… and scattered across this tropical paradise years ago.
If you’re lucky enough, you may even meet the captain’s old diving partner—a talking parrot who’s still hunting for treasures!
Typhoon Lagoon is home to North Americas largest wavepool where you can experience over 6ft swells!
Wade into the warm water where gentle waves lap the white sandy beach. Swim out and listen for the thunderous “sonic boom” and the squeals of delighted swimmers as little ripples become big kahunas. Keep watch and feel the excitement build as a cresting wave heads your way—and get ready to paddle!

Which is your favourite Disney water park to visit?
