As we mentioned back in November, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment are looking to add some major attractions to their already impressive array, well today they have announced their proposed Antarctica development has began it first stage of development.

A SeaWorld spokesman stated

Following on from our previous  announcements, Penguin Encounter, Friends of the Wild and the Antarctic Market Restaurant are now closed while the park works on the development of Antarctica – Empire of the Penguin, set to open spring 2013.

Great to see the park investing in new projects and we will of course keep you up to date on developments.
