Interview With Larry Raubach From Eat & Play Card

Hey Thrill Seekers,

It’s Tuesday which means interview day. Last week we had the pleasure of speaking with our very own Teresa and the week before that we spoke with the charming Danny from Dollar Off Drinks.han-solo

Today is Larry Raubach from Eat & Play Cards. We haven’t known Larry for very long but he was refreshingly enthusiastic about participating and to his credit was the first to get back to us.

Let’s get to know him…

Name: Larry Raubach
Company: Eat and Play Card
Position: Director, Marketing & Partner Development

Getting to know you

Traditional Coasters or Motion Simulators? Traditional! Especially high, fast, wooden coasters.
Fast Pass or queue? Queue – the single rider queue to be specific. 😉
Facebook or Twitter? Facebook
Fictional Character that most represents you? Han Solo (I wish represented me anyways)
Book or Film? Book…then film.
Night out or night in? Night out! Preferably someplace that makes a mean Old Fashioned burger.
Favourite song?: Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey.
Favourite film?: Star Wars
3 People (real or fictional) you’d invite for the perfect dinner? JFK and Marilyn Monroe. The gossip! And maybe Han Solo.

Work

What’s been the highlight of the year (2015) for your company?: Other than finally working with Orlando Attraction Tickets, probably reading so many excellent customer reviews of Eat and Play Card. We love hearing from customers directly or via third party review sites.
What’s been the highlight of the year (2015) for you?: Visiting Brazil and most specifically Rio de Janeiro. Wow, what a spectacular setting for a city. If it’s not already on your bucket list, you seriously must add it. Be sure to visit Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf. And yes Copacabana Beach too.
What can we expect from your company in 2016?: That’s top secret. 😉
Make a 2016 prediction…: My prediction would give away the above…
Best Theme Park ride/attraction of 2015?: The entire Orlando Eye complex – “I-Drive 360.” So many new smaller attractions and tons of great new restaurants and night life options, it’s really brought a lot of excitement to International Drive. I can spend a week in Orlando and be perfectly happy never leaving I-Drive. Okay, maybe a trip to CityWalk or Disney Springs.
Best Theme Park/attraction food of 2015?: To be honest, I’m not a fan of most theme park food. I prefer off property – it’s generally better and less expensive. Plus when I’m in the parks, I don’t want to waste too much time sitting and eating. But off property favourites…how much time do we have? I have lots of favourites, especially along I-Drive.
Best Theme Park/attraction tip?: I’m not a fan of the crowds simply because I hate waiting and waiting and waiting in queues for a ride that last mere seconds. So, other than the obvious avoiding weekends and holidays, my best tip is also my best skiing tip…go for the single rider queues. Even if it means a two minute ride not seated next to your friend or family member, it can be better than waiting 90 minutes.
Best kept secret in Florida?: Wekiwa Springs State Park and Del Ray Beach. Wekiwa Springs is beautiful! Just north of Orlando it’s hard to believe it’s not better known. Of course locals know it well but most tourist are consumed with the parks and of course justifiably so. But most people have some free “non-park” days – take one and visit this place! And Del Ray is my favourite beach town in Florida. It’s between West Palm and Ft. Lauderdale so about three hours from Orlando. It has a spectacular beach and terrific night life and dining options despite having a quaint small Florida beach town vibe.

I’d like to thank Larry for taking the time to get involved with our interview season. Some great information and some intriguing secrets.

You can purchase the Eat and Play Card directly from Orlando Attraction Tickets for as little as £15.
