Yeah the rides are awesome, yes the animals are cute and ok the food is amazing but the most important thing you should take from your Orlando Theme Park Holiday are some amazing selfies!!!
The selfie opportunities are off the charts in Florida, trust me if you can’t get at least one awesome selfie, it my be time to hang up your mobile and go back to a couple of tins and a very long piece of string. For anyone who’s been living in a cave for the past 10 years a Selfie is defined thusly;
Noun: Selfie. Plural Noun: selfies
a photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or a webcam and shared via social media.
We’re obviously professionals when it comes to taking a really good theme park selfie as this picture proves…
Ok maybe not this one… but I promise we do know what we’re doing. Today I thought I’d run you through our top tips for taking the perfect selfie.
Angle
Tilting your head slightly will make your cheekbones more pronounced and make your eyes look bigger… basically the rule is chin down, camera up.
Arms Length or Selfie Stick
Yep, who cares if they’re not cool… you’re trying to get the perfect selfie here. If you’ve got a selfie stick use it. Adding a bit of distance can help hide any imperfections you may have… No selfie stick? Use your built in version and extend your arm as far as you can.
Face
Stick to what you know… Selfie’s are meant to be fun. If you love a duck face, a toothy grin or my personal favourite the raised eyebrow then do it. No rules with a selfie face… Just try to feel as comfortable as possible.
Lighting
Lighting can make or break a selfie, the advantage you’ll have is that you’ll be in Orlando! The sun loves Orlando and there’s no better light than that big ball of fire in the sky. The ideal time or magic hour is either one hour after sunrise or one hour before sunset.
Filter
Oh and of course no selfie is complete without whacking it through a filter. The Orlando Attraction Tickets app offers 9 filters to make your selfies perfect, use them wisely… There’s also that little known app Instagram that can also help.
Iconic background
A selfie taken with something amazing in the background is always a winner. If only you were somewhere with plenty of iconic backgrounds… you know like a fire breathing dragon or a massive princess fairy-tale castle!
The key here is in the positioning, we’d recommend placing your face on the right or left hand side of the picture side by side with the attraction you’ve picked. Try to avoid being bang in the middle.
