Hey Thrill Seekers,
SeaWorld Orlando is well known for its work helping injured animals in the Orlando area. As part of its wider plan to change the perceived image of SeaWorld they have today announced they have opened up an area usually not seen by the public. Guests can now get an up-close look at the work that the park does to help manatee’s get back to their natural habitat.
The Manatee Rehabilitation Area can be found near the exit of Turtle Trek and will allow guests to see the step by step approach SeaWorld take to in the journey to a Manatee’s recovery. The area includes 2 x 30 foot by 30 foot pools, one for urgent care and one more of a holding area for recovery.
I’ve been on the SeaWorld behind the scenes tour which use to cover this area however now all guests can view the fantastic work SeaWorld do in the helping the Sea Cow get back to its natural habitat.
SeaWorld’s new direction is to educate and raise general awareness and this new attraction will certainly go some way to providing this.
Smiles included…
Jamie
