Universal Reveal This Years HHN35 Logo – What Does it Tell Us?

On Friday MEGACON revealed they’ll be hosting a panel that allows visitors to step behind the screams and hear from some of the twisted minds who bring Halloween Horror Nights to life. With this announcement came the reveal of this years logo.

The HHN35 logo features:

• A dark, wood-grain or aged texture background
• Burnished gold and ember-like lettering
• A dramatic, almost gothic serif typeface
• Deep shadows and subtle fiery glow

🎪 Theming direction: The Return of the King?

Any Halloween Horror Nights fan when asked what a Circus means, will without a shadow of a doubt say “Jack the Clown”

A milestone year like 35 almost demands the return of Jack the Clown.

Why it fits:

• The gold lettering feels theatrical almost circus-marquee adjacent.
• Anniversary years often revisit legacy characters.
• Jack represents chaos layered over classic horror themes.

Jack first appeared in 2000 as the icon of Halloween Horror Nights X. He proved so popular that has since returned several times over the years and in 2025 became a permanent fixture at Universals Las Vegas HHN Unleashed location. Jack is an insane former circus clown and of course a serial killer who murders his victims according to his twisted sense of humour.

📗What type of story could we see?
A house exploring Jack’s “origin myth” in darker, more ritualistic form less comedy, more psychological torment. Universal could easily take advantage of modern technology to create a psychological choose your own adventure house.

HHN 35’s logo feels mature and intentional.

If branding is any indicator, this year at Universal Studios Florida may focus on:

• Elevated storytelling
• Grand set design
• Dark cathedral-scale environments
• A strong central icon presence

Whether that icon is Jack reborn or something entirely new, the aesthetic signals a return to theatrical horror roots.
