We’re hearing from multiple sources that The Earffel Tower at Disney Hollywood Studios has been taken down over night.
Although Disney did state back in January that the popular tower would be making way to create more room for the new Toy Story Land, its taken a lot us by surprise that its gone.
For those perhaps not in the know, the Earffel Tower was water towers located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, they are based on water towers often found on Hollywood studio backlots of the first half of the 1900s, which were originally a safety measure to douse fires on highly flammable wooden film sets; the Earffel Towers, however, did not contain water.
The Earffel Tower was constructed in 1989 and was the first of the two water towers, and was the original icon of Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
