Epic Universe Capacity

Hey Thrill Seekers,

Q: Why did the Universal Tickets for 2025 only include 1 visit to Epic Universe?

A: Read below

Universal Destinations & Experiences announced in their quarterly earnings call today that they have “been holding back a little bit” to ensure the experience meets their standards. This indicates that Universal has not been running Epic Universe at full capacity.

Universal has intentionally limited ticket sales for Epic Universe to below the park’s capacity to ensure guests have the planned experience and to address any issues that arise. Mike Cavanagh, president of Comcast, stated, “Our focus now is driving increased ride capacity. It’s a new park and very technologically advanced. We’re still working on the labour and the kinks to drive it to full capacity.”

Here in the UK we already knew the increased capacity was coming. Currently, tickets for 2025 visits only offer one day of access to Epic Universe, but tickets for 2026 include 14 consecutive days of unlimited access, suggesting the park will be operating at full capacity by then. Cavanagh also stated, “Expect it to fully scale up in the months ahead.”

Requiring a 14-day package with the other three parks to get a one-day ticket to Epic Universe turned out to be a successful strategy, as attendance and spending across all of Universal Orlando has surged with the opening of Epic Universe. “Orlando broadly, the full resort of Orlando, is very strong,” Cavanagh said. “We’re very pleased. The idea was to have Epic head us toward a week-long vacation experience. One of the nice things is that there’s been less cannibalization of attendance from our two preexisting parks than we expected.”

Universal Destinations & Experiences saw an 18.7% year-over-year revenue boost in Q3 2025, thanks to the launch of Epic Universe.
