Howl-O-Scream: the most underrated event in Orlando?

Now no one likes to admit to having favourites but when it comes to Halloween events in Orlando I most definitely do have a fave! Don’t get me wrong, Disney’s Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party and Universals Halloween Horror Nights are both awesome events BUT Howl-O-Scream is just top tier! WHAT? I hear you scream at your screens, just wait, i’m going to recruit you to my Howl-O-Scream cult by the end of this blog. 👀 Not only is it the absolute BEST but it will only currently cost you £32.90 per person – that is a price you can’t ignore!
Howl-O-Scream takes place in both SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa and while both are as good as each other i’m going to focus on SeaWorld in this blog, for a few reasons really but the main one being I am still traumatised from the bushes (yes you heard that right – the BUSHES) chasing me through Busch Gardens in 2019! I’m jokinggg, of course the main reason is because we have just reduced the pricing of this years (already super cheap) SeaWorld Howl-O-Scream tickets!! Grab em while they’re hot (and all that)!!!
Something you may not know is that Howl-O-Scream is Orlandos newest Halloween event! Now in its 5th year, Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld Orlando unleashes a new wave of screams with unexpected horrors lurking around every corner. This separately ticketed event is built for the brave, featuring spine-tingling scare zones, menacing haunted houses, and heart-pounding thrill rides in the dark. If you asked me to describe this event in 2 words, they would be ‘Hilariously Terrifying!’

This year, Howl-O-Scream is taking place over 28 nights, running on select evenings from now through November 1, and features:
- 5 haunted houses with all-new storylines and immersive horror environments
- 6 scare zones where the fear is never far and no path is safe
- 4 Pulse Pounding Attractions at Night
- 2 roaming hordes—you’ll never know when or where the terror will strike next (now I have a story about these that still gives me nightmares!)
- 5 themed bars with eerie cocktails and chilling vibes
- Electrifying live shows, and atmospheric entertainment throughout the night
- Plus never-before-seen surprises to be revealed as the darkness draws near
Lets start with something new for 2025 shall we? Havoc — The Face of Fear 😱 ‘He emerged from the ashes not as a man, but as Hell’s ambassador to the living — a punisher, a seducer, a breaker of souls. The Sirens once held him in check, binding him to the shadows. But now they’re gone. And he’s free to unleash his full fury on both the dead and the damned. Havoc rides between worlds, dragging Earth’s sins into his arena — a battleground of flesh, fire, seduction, and slaughter. His goal? To turn pain into pleasure, chaos into worship, and fear into fuel.
And he always rides alone.
Until he doesn’t.’
So in short, this year SeaWorld have introduced a new Icon to the event pointing to a new era for the event’s narrative, marketing, and immersive storytelling.
Haunted Houses
This years haunted houses sound soooo good (why does it feel like I can’t describe anything as Epic these days? 🙄🤣) so lets get in to them!
NEW! Widows Nest – Enter a decaying Victorian orphanage shrouded in cobwebs and secrets. Once a renowned seamstress, The Black Widow now lurks in the ruins of her twisted sanctuary, transformed into something far more sinister. Driven mad by grief and obsession, she spins her creations from silk and bone, stitching together a web of terror that traps all who dare to enter. As shadows slither and whispers echo through the halls, you’ll soon realize—this nest isn’t abandoned. It’s waiting.
NEW: The Rave Yard – Buried deep in the shadows of a forgotten cemetery, a sinister underground rave pulses with life—or rather, unlife. As the bass reverberates through crumbling tombstones and mausoleums glow with neon light, the dead rise with one purpose: to party… forever. The music never stops. The dead never rest. And if you’re not careful, you’ll be dancing with the damned for eternity.
NEW: The Collector’s Curse – Step inside a lavish estate turned house of horrors, where a mysterious host known as The Collector lures guests with rare relics and ancient artifacts. But this estate sale hides a sinister secret—one that pulls you deep into a twisted underworld of cursed creations and monstrous mutations.
RETURNING: Farm 51 – It was supposed to be just another empty field. But when you stumble upon a crumbling farmhouse deep in the backwoods, the silence feels wrong. The corn sways without wind. The static in the air crawls up your spine. And then—you hear them. Something has crash-landed. Something not of this world. And it’s not here to make peace. Step back inside Farm51, a haunted house infested with the terrifying aftermath of an extraterrestrial encounter. Are you brave enough to investigate… or will you become the next experiment?
RETURNING FAVE: Waters Edge Wellness Center – Nestled at the edge of the misty, foreboding Central Lake, the Water’s Edge Wellness Center once promised serenity and rejuvenation. Today, it stands as a chilling reminder of a past shrouded in mystery and dark secrets. Prepare yourself for an unforgettable journey into the macabre, where the line between the living and the dead is blurred, and the horrors of the past come to life. Will you escape unscathed, or will you become another lost soul within the haunted halls of the Water’s Edge Wellness Center?
Scare Zones
The Scare Zones at Howl-O-Scream are always a blast! From sexy vampires to Cannibals who want to eat you there’s something for everyone. As you tiptoe through the park something will be lurking behind every corner.
NEW: Trailer Park Tragedy
Something wicked’s gone down at the Trailer Park. Once a rowdy backwoods community on the edge of nowhere, the residents here have turned territorial—and terrifying. The place is in ruins, and the residents protect their home with savage vengeance. Trespassers beware: these locals don’t take kindly to visitors, and they’ve got the rusted tools, snarling beasts, and twisted sense of justice to prove it. You might stumble in… but you won’t stumble out.
NEW: Echoes in the Glass
The maze has been forgotten, but the screams have not. Beneath layers of dust and shattered reflections lies a maze of mirrors that should never have been built—each pane a portal, each twist a trap. Inside, the souls of those who entered before you remain…silent, watching, waiting. They beckon from behind the glass, begging for release—or perhaps for company.
In Echoes in the Glass, your reflection may not be the only one staring back. Step carefully. Once you’re inside, it’s easy to lose your way. Harder still to leave it behind.
NEW: Ashes of the Forgotten
Where Smoke Rises… Havoc Reigns
Among the blackened bones of this abandoned scrapyard, shadows flicker with the whispers of the Nightmare Citizens — disfigured souls who clawed their way out of ruin and now serve only one master: Havoc. Twisted metal groans beneath scorched boots, and the air hangs thick with smoke, ash, and screams that never die. Step into the fire — where the forgotten burn, and fear is reborn.
NEW: Woodrot Hollow
Deep in the heart of the festering swamp lies Woodrot Hollow — a place where the trees weep sap like blood and the ground oozes with decay. Locals whisper of a creature made of mud, moss, and rage, protecting its home from anyone who wanders too far off the trail. Step off, and you might find yourself face-to-face with a twisted swamp-dweller. In this swamp, the only thing more suffocating than the stench… is the silence before they strike.
Wander in… and rot with the rest.
RETURNING FAVE: Blood Light District
Step into the seductive shadows of the Blood Light District, where temptation drips from every corner and danger hides behind every alluring glance. Beneath the glow of crimson lights, vampires prowl the cobblestone streets, luring victims with irresistible charm and a thirst that can’t be quenched.
In this sultry scare zone, beauty is a trap—and you’re walking straight into it.
RETURNING FAVE: Cannibal Harbor
Welcome back to Cannibal Harbor, a decaying port where the fog never lifts—and neither does the hunger. Twisted by a dark curse, the fishermen here no longer haul in fish. They hunt the living.
Dare to wander these haunted docks, but be warned: in Cannibal Harbor, you’re either predator… or prey.
There is so much more to Howl-O-Scream too! The roaming hordes are always the highlight of my visit to Howl-O-Scream and last year I actually got sacrificed by a whole group of witches who learned my name and wouldn’t let me leave the park! 😱 The interactive bars are a hidden secret of Howl-O-Scream and are definitely worth a visit (not just because the cocktails are delicious) there’s performances and acrobatics going on left right and center. The shows are also a MUST DO, the theatrics, voices, ideas and execution (not literally.. or is it?) are up there with the best i’ve seen. I’ve included some more details on the bars and shows below.

Welcome to Space Gate 3, where a night could take a terrifying turn into the unknown, as the veil between worlds is perilously thin. Rumor has it that a strange anomaly in this very location has led to eerie encounters with extraterrestrial beings. Sip on cosmic concoctions and brace yourself for an otherworldly experience that’s as thrilling as it is chilling.
Step right up to a world of wonder and evil. Don’t be fooled by the unknowing wanderers who make their way to this specialty bar. The carnival magic is contagious, don’t let it infect you.

Pulse Pounding Thrills
Last but most definitely NOT least – the rides! It is a theme park after all and riding your faves in the dark is a experience not to be missed!
For those seeking thrills beyond the scares, SeaWorld’s legendary attractions—Mako, Infinity Falls, Ice Breaker, and Pipeline operate throughout the night, delivering adrenaline-pumping experiences under the cover of darkness.

If you’re not convinced by now then you must be outta your mind!! It’s not only a cheap night out but it has the best scare zones, houses, shows, cocktails, entertainment and rides of any Halloween event out there. Mako in the dark on it’s own is worth the £33!!!
