Happy Saturday Thrill Seekers,
Not sure “Happy Saturday” is a thing but I’m going with it. Today’s
post should of gone live yesterday but due to a unexpectedly hectic day its turned into a saturday Brucie Bonus.
Today’s post completes my series of reviews and its with my direct boss Frank Williams. A lovely man, but once you get him talking about Theme Parks who might as well tuck yourself in for the night, the man can talk!!! 🙂
Here’s his interview below (edited to just half a books length) 😉
Name: Frank Williams
What was 2013 like?:Â From an operational point of view it was pretty hectic. The guys upstairs have been working hard to make sure our job in the office is as easy as possible. We have seen a lot of repeat business on top of increased sales so we all had to work pretty hard. Luckily I have a fantastic team here who really care about what they are doing.
Your highlight of 2013?:Â As a company we have come on leaps and bounds in the last 12 months. We have properly established ourselves as a quality brand within the attraction ticket market. I think that has been one of our best achievements because visiting the parks is a massive part of most peoples holidays and people spend a lot of money doing it. So customer confidence and as mentioned previously, repeat business means we have created, what I feel, is essential brand confidence….sorry, got a bit corporate there….
Your Best Park 2013?:Â I love Universal Islands of Adventure. OK, you have The Wizarding World of Harry Potter which is awesome but my personal favorite is Marvel Super Hero Island which has some cracking rides. From Dr Dooms Free Fall, to The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman to my absolute favorite roller coaster of all time The Incredible Hulk…Not that I am a nerd or anything but they also have comic book stores and the art work around the island is incredible.
Your Best Attraction 2013?:Â Transformers 3-D – wow, what a ride. Its an insane blend of technology and a moving car that is not only visually incredible but the movement of the car you sit in gives you the ‘real’ feeling that you are riding a roller coaster even though you really don’t travel that far at all – its so clever.
In regards to Theme Parks, what are you most looking forward to in 2014?:Â I like Dr Dooms Free Fall at Universal Island of Adventure so I am looking forward to Falcons Fury at Busch Gardens – it’s 300ft tall drop ride! What’s not to look forward to about that???
Make a 2014 prediction…: I think I can only predict that we will be a lot busier. Personally I could do with a holiday but from what the guys have planned for 2014, from our own distribution point of view, I don’t think i’ll be getting that holiday just yet  However for the parks themselves I imagine that 2014 will be a bumper year for visitors.
Great stuff from Frank, he’s probably the most knowledgeable when it comes to theme parks at Orlando Attraction Tickets and although he’s in charge of the res floor you’ll still find him on the phones talking to customers… he just loves it!
Smiles included…
Jamie
