Hey Thrill Seekers,
Planning your Orlando holiday can seem overwhelming, to make sure that you have a stress free holiday, your best option would be to plan each day beforehand to ensure that you can make the most out of your tickets.
I’m going to write a plan for my family holiday next month and hopefully it will help you too!
Day 1 – Universal’s Islands of Adventure
Islands of Adventure is usually the first park that we visit as we absolutely love the Incredible Hulk Coaster, we’re also all massive Harry Potter nerds so cannot wait to experience the Hogwart’s Express for the first time!
Top Tip: Try and think opposite to everyone else and do the attractions backwards. This way you can avoid the larger queues.
Day 2 – Disney’s Magic Kingdom
My favourite coaster at Magic Kingdom is Space Mountain but I fall in love with Disney that little bit more (if that’s even possible) every time I watch the shows that they put on. Wishes Night Time Spectacular is quite possibly the best fireworks show that you will ever see.
Top Tip: Do your research on timings of each show so you can get a good spot. The shows get busy and you don’t want to miss them! So take advantage of Disney’s My Magic+ to avoid disappointment.
Day 3 – Discovery Cove
Time to relax as we enter Discovery Cove. Although you will be full of excitement about your time with the dolphins, you will have the whole day to relax around the park if you want to. Remember, your day at Discovery Cove is all inclusive!
Top Tip: The earlier you arrive at the park, the better chance you have of getting the time slot that you prefer. The park will also provide you with their own sunscreen that is not harmful to the dolphins so try not to wear your own.
Day 4 – Universal Studios
Universal Studios is great for those who prefer a different type of experience. If you’re a fan of 3D attractions, this is the park for you. From Minions 3D to Transformers 3D there is a wide variety from you to choose from.
Top Tip: Make sure you try out the Hogwart’s Express. This will take you back and forth from Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure with a different experience each way!
Day 5 – Busch Gardens
I hope you’re ready for a tiring day. Busch Gardens is such a big park with so much to do from seeing all of the animals to riding some the biggest coasters like the new attraction Falcon’s Fury. I cannot wait!
Top Tip: Wear comfortable shoes. This park requires a lot of walking and you want to make the most of it without being distracted by the pain of those new shoes 😉
Day 6 – Aquatica
Let’s chill out at a water park for the day. You can add a little excitement with their flumes and the rivers. Personally, I can’t wait to try out Ihu’s Breakaway Falls!
Top Tip: Try to arrive fairly early so you can get a good sun spot on the man made beach!
Day 7 – Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Animal Kingdom is the biggest day for your camera. There are so many photo spots for a selfie or for the attractions of course! Although there are so many animals to see, don’t forget about the coaster’s such as Expedition Everest. My favourite!
Top Tip: Make sure you charge your camera enough to the last the whole day. You will kick yourself if you get half way through your day with a dead camera!
Day 8 – SeaWorld Orlando
SeaWorld have a range of attractions from the big coasters to the animal shows. There is so much variety so it’s fun for all the family! I’ve seen the shows a few times now but never get bored of watching them the majestic grace of the animals takes my breath away.
Top Tip: When you watch the shows, be sure to sit in the Wet Zone..the closer the better!
Day 9 – Typhoon Lagoon
After the last 2 days in the theme parks with sore feet, take a chill day at a water park. Typhoon Lagoon is one of Disney’s two water parks , for me the highlight is its wave pool which is amazing and I always get the impression of a very laid back atmosphere.
Top Tip – Apply sunscreen sporadically, the last thing you want to do is get sun stroke and ruin the rest of your holiday.
Day 10 – Disney’s Hollywood Studios
We’re going to have a morning of shopping at the Florida Mall’s (considering we have our free smile alerts ;)) before heading off to Hollywood Studios for the afternoon. A classic ride is the Aerosmith’s Rock n Roller Coaster! I never get bored of this one!
Top Tip: Head over to Sunset Boulevard into the Amphitheatre for Disney’s Fantasmic. It’s not something you want to miss!
Day 11 – Blizzard Beach
We always get so tired when we visit Orlando so having all these water parks are a god send! Blizzard Beach is the second of the Disney Water Parks, look out for Summit Plummet if you’re brave enough.
Top Tip: Make the most of the flumes and slides and don’t forget to top up your sunscreen!
Day 12 – Epcot
Why not go travelling around the world in just a day? Epcot gives the opportunity to see the different cultures in other countries. You learn something new everyday as they say!
Top Tip: Don’t miss the amazing fireworks display that Epcot have to offer!
Don’t waste your unlimited access on your tickets. Why not revisit your favourite parks or maybe just go and ride one of the attractions that you may have missed. I think I’ll probably revisit Islands of Adventure for one last adrenaline fix.
So that’s my holiday, I’m getting tired just thinking about it! I’ll probably need another holiday to get over my holiday! 🙂 Let me know what you think and how you’d improve it.
Smiles included…
Louise
