Check out Woody’s Lunchbox Menu!

Hey Thrill Seekers!

Gavin wanted to write this blog but because of his childlike mind I though it would be safer for me to tell you all about what you can find inside Woody’s Lunchbox. 😀

You’ll find Woody’s Lunchbox inside Toy Story Land which is opening in Hollywood Studios on June 30th and will see guests shrink to the size of a toy to be able to explore Woody, Buzz, Jessie and friends world. Yesterday we spoke a bit about some of the food and drink that they’ll be serving up at the walk-up window on OAT Live. (please feel free to skip the first few minutes as Gavin broke the microphone)

Disney have put a hell of a lot of effort in to this menu and the team at Flavor Lab – the concept development kitchen have created ‘sentimental food favourites’ and put a modern twist on them both in the flavours and look of the food. Lenny DeGeorge – Concept Development Culinary Director of WDW said “Everyone has a special food memory, so it can be tricky putting a modern spin on the favorites, we honoured these classic dishes by using the best ingredients to elevate the flavors. How we constructed the sandwiches was important, such as layering the ingredients in a specific order, to maximize textures and flavors. Why have a cold sandwich when you can have a toasted hot, gooey cheese-filled one?” The menu has been in development for around a YEAR!!!

Check out this snippet of what you will be able to get at Woody’s Lunchbox come June 30th..

S’more French Toast Breakfast SandwichOozy goodness in a chocolate ganache- and marshmallow-stuffed French toast topped with graham cracker crumbles. Inspired by the classic American campfire treat. This actually sounds veeerrrryyyyy tempting to me, although maybe not for breakfast.. or before a big ride..

Smoked Turkey, Eggs, Swiss, Peppers, and Onions on SourdoughThe perfect hand-held stack of breakfast goodness.

Breakfast BowlThe green army men line up for this hearty bowl of potato barrels, brisket-country gravy, and scrambled eggs. Scrambled Eggs and GRAVY?!?!

BBQ Brisket MeltWith a nod to cowboy Woody, this Texas-style smoked brisket features cheddar, Monterey Jack, pickles, and BBQ sauce on garlic butter-grilled sourdough.

Monte Cristo with Raspberry JamWoody’s version of this classic sandwich has layers of ham, turkey, Swiss, and raspberry jam…and is grilled to a golden brown.

Smoked Turkey, Tomato, and Lettuce on Multigrain Bread – This quintessential lunch box sandwich is a light and fresh option. And to give it a kick of flavor, we add a creamy Dijonnaise.

TotchosPotato barrels, corn chips, chili, and cheese – what’s not to love??

The younger toys can get a grilled cheese sandwich or turkey sandwich, both served with potato barrels and mandarin oranges.

Sides Include: tomato basil soup, vegetable macaroni salad, and potato barrels. Mini Babybel snack cheese, the official snack cheese of Walt Disney World Resort, is also an option to eat with your meal or as an on-the-go snack.

And now for pudding mmmmm…
Raspberry Lunch Box Tart garnished with Icing and Dried Fruit and Chocolate-Hazelnut Lunch Box Tart garnished with Icing and Caramelized Bacon
Even toys need a sweet treat! Inspired by breakfast toaster pastries, this modern interpretation, with its uniquely delicate crust, is the perfect hand-held pastry.

Banana Split Yogurt ParfaitLayers of banana-vanilla Greek yogurt (with a hint of honey), fresh bananas, strawberries, and pineapple topped with granola and chocolate chips. A delicious and healthful way to start the day! Take out the honey (yuck) and i’m all for this!!

Also, check out this really cool Alien Sipper cup which can be bought and filled with any fountain drink or ‘the signature Mystic Portal Punch – Powerade Mountain Berry Blast with flavors of lemon-lime and tangerine.’

Adults or the ‘big kids’ as they will be known in Toy Story Land can try the ‘Grown-Up’s Lemonade cocktail’ which consists of cherry vodka, Odwalla Lemonade, and black cherry purée or the usual beer, or cider.

It’s not long now until Toy Story Land opens (it’s77 days away to be precise) and its looking better and better each time Disney give us some more info, who’s excited?!

Disney Release New Images of their Star Wards Inspired Resort

 Hey Thrill Seekers,

Last week on OAT Live we spoke a bit about the new Star Wars Hotel coming to Walt Disney World in the future. It is definitely going to be a one of a kind resort  with a groundbreaking concept which will combine luxury with complete immersion putting customers straight in to a Star Wars story throughout their stay.

Today, Disney have released some more visuals of the resort..

https://www.facebook.com/orlandoattractiontickets/videos/1879709088707532/

“The immerse experience offered at this hotel will stand out among all of our resorts around the globe. As you can see, families visiting this resort will board a starship alive with characters and stories that unfold all around them during their voyage through the galaxy – and every window has a view of space!”

Disney state that the resort will be ‘seamlessly connected’ to Star Wars: Galaxy’s edge which is coming to Hollywood Studios in 2019 (we think) and guests will also be able to wear Star Wars attire to really fit the part!!

I’m not personally a huge Star Wars fan but even I can’t wait for this!! Especially with the rumour of interactive lightsabers flying around.. 😉

Planet Name Revealed for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Hey Thrill Seekers,

Visitors to Hollywood Studios today and in particular guests on Star Tours – The Adventures Continues were in for a whole new experience. As brave visitors boarded Starspeeders they embarked on a ‘thrilling new journey’ to the edges of space which found them making an unexpected landing on a planet in the outer rim of the Star Wars galaxy. This is a planet already known to C-3P0 and now to us as ‘Batuu.’

This remote outpost on the galaxy’s edge was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes, but its prominence was bypassed by the rise of hyperspace travel. Now home to those who prefer to stay out of the mainstream, it has become a thriving port for smugglers, rogue traders and adventurers travelling between the frontier and uncharted space. It’s also a convenient safe haven for those intent on avoiding the expanding reach of the First Order. While Batuu may be new to us, it is clearly already familiar to many characters from the Star Wars saga as a stepping off point for epic adventures.

The Creative Executive, Scott Trowbridge has said “I look forward to sharing more updates from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge as we further explore the stories and adventures you’ll be invited to discover when our new lands open in 2019.” Hopefully this means we will get some more information soon!

What do you think of the name Batuu? I’m going with the pronunciation of ‘Bat-ooooooooooo’ 😉

Disney Release First Look at Woodys Lunchbox in Toy Story Land

Hey Thrill Seekers!

We are all understandably, super excited about the opening of Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios in the summer of 2018 and Disney have just released a look in to a new area planned for Toy Story Land called Woody’s Lunchbox.

We’ve already seen some cool imagery and videos for 2 of the attractions coming to Toy Story Land – Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers and now we’re getting a closer look at one of the food stops. Toy Story Land will see visitors shrink to the size of a toy to explore the land that has been made by Andy in his backyard. Within the backyard you will find Woody’s Lunchbox where Andy has used his own lunch box and flask to build a walk-up quick service window to serve yummy food and drink.

From the picture above you’ll be able to spot lots of Andy’s favourite toys and items from his lunch. If you look close enough you will be able to see a green army man keeping a look out for Andy’s return. I love how from the images that they have been releasing that you can really see how immersive it is going to be and how guests are going to feel like little toys within the land.

Disney have hinted that a menu of the items Woody’s Lunchbox will be serving is going to be released in the next few months so stay tuned.

Oh i’m also very eager to ride The Incredible Hulk Coaster We have a surprise evening with Universal on this day and i’m super excited to see what this is going to be, of course, i’ll keep you updated!

Day 4 is the day i’m most excited about… anyone who knows me will understand why. Ever since I can remember, I’ve wanted to swim with a dolphin and now i’m lucky enough to have the opportunity to do it YAY!!! If you haven’t guessed already, i’ll be visiting Discovery Cove in the morning. I’m not going to lie there will probably be some tears buy hey, who cares it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity! Grand Avenue – The Third New Land Coming to Hollywood Studios this Autumn!

Hey Thrill Seekers!

There is so much going on in regards to new Disney attractions and lands that I can’t keep up! Today i’m focused on Hollywood Studios. Two of the main additions heading to Hollywood Studios are going to be Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land but today Disney have announced some information on another part of the park which is going to be transformed.

Muppets Courtyard and part of the former Streets of America, is being re-imagined by the Walt Disney Imagineers to become a new area called Grand Avenue.

Grand Avenue will be inspired by the unique culture of downtown Los Angeles,  where vintage office buildings and warehouses are being converted to exciting new uses. Guests will get to see “merchants” appear in the area, such as music shops, loft apartments, a tailor and more. Disney say that each window on the street will feature ‘charming displays’. It seems as though these will be fake storefronts that guests won’t be able to enter but will add loads of atmosphere and ‘feels’ to the area.

The current Muppets Courtyard is set to become Grand Park ‘an urban square off Grand Avenue surrounded by shops and restaurants like PizzeRizzo and Mana Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano.’  If you are visiting Hollywood Studios in the near future you will already be able to see some changes such as the Muppets Theatre being renamed to the ‘Grand Arts Theatre.’  Don’t worry though – All the favourites such as Kermit and Miss Piggy continue to be stars in the Muppet*Vision 3D show!

More Details On Grand Avenue, Coming Soon To Disney’s Hollywood Studios More Details On Grand Avenue, Coming Soon To Disney’s Hollywood Studios

“California craft ales, lagers and cider are the stars of the drink menu. California wines on tap along with specialty cocktails are not to be missed either. A gourmet non-alcoholic lemonade and soda on tap round out the drink selection. If you’re feeling peckish, try one of the small bites, including a Bavarian pretzel with mustard and beer-cheese fondue, spiced almonds or a charcuterie board featuring California cheeses.”

BaseLine Tap House is something me and Teresa spoke about a few weeks ago on our all girl Facebook Live. The new corner pub will feature Californian beers and wines along with a selection of small bites (and lots of cheese!!) The pictures above are making me seriously hungry!

Grand Avenue will be opening to guests this Autumn, not too far away at all! I for one cannot wait as it sounds right up my street (or avenue should I say 😉 )

Disney Reveal More Star Wars Land Details

Hey Thrill Seekers,

So just before the Easter break Universal and SeaWorld both revealed massive news regarding their parks. SeaWorld Orlando announced a new ride and confirmed the opening date of Kraken Unleashed not to be outdone Universal gave us an early Christmas present in the form of Harry Potter and hinted at more Potter news to come! But all was quiet on the Disney front… until now.

Disney Imagineers got together at this weekends Celebration of Star Wars event to tell us a little more about the land set to open in 2019.

They confirmed that the Planet the land will be based does not feature in any of the movies but can be found on the edge of the Unknown Regions. They also gave us a little back story confirming that the remote village was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes, but the prominence of the outpost has been bypassed with the rise of hyperspace travel. Now home to those who prefer less attention, it has become a thriving port for smugglers, rogue traders and adventurers traveling between the frontier and uncharted space. It’s also a convenient safe-haven for others intent on avoiding the expanding reach of the First Order.

Disney weren’t finished with a video and a back story they had more to share. Scott Trowbridge, Creative Director stated that visitors would be able to take control of the Millennium Falcon and interestingly the choices they make during this could effect the way characters in the Land react to them, almost like the old pick your adventure style books.

It sounds like we’re going to get an immersive story unique to guests that follows them around the Land, you’ll be part of the Star Wars Universe and each attraction will just add to your overall continuous experience.

Disney Imagineer Asa Kalama added;

There are going to be a ton of opportunities to help out and support the Resistance, lots of smugglers and bounty hunters who are looking for a little bit of help and might be willing to offer you up a side job, and for those of you who are interested in supporting The First Order, that will absolutely be an opportunity as well

Its was also mentioned that the Land would have its own unique sensory experience including smells and tastes including “Blue Milk”  (Bantha Milk).

We’re so excited for more information and we’re expecting more this July at Disney’s D23 Expo.

Disney Reveals Star Wars Construction Update

Hey Thrill Seekers,

When Disney reveals Star Wars information a siren goes off here at OAT towers similar to using the Bat Signal and we all rush head first to the nearest computer to bath in its glory… and today is one of those days.

Scheduled to open in 2019 Disney World have already broken ground on the much anticipated land.

Instead of using one of the known planets in the Star Wars galaxy guests will be transported to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before wild space where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life and where guests will find themselves in the middle of the action.

Disney are also creating two new signature attractions: one that lets guests take the controls of Millennium Falcon on a customised secret mission and an epic Star Wars adventure that puts guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

We’ve also heard that Disney are working on creating droids that guests can interact with, these droids will be built using new AI technology that also allow them to learn as they go!!

How amazing is Star Wars at Disney going to be?

New Skyway Gondola Transportation System at Disney Rumoured.

Hey Thrill Seekers,

There is currently a rumour ‘floating’ around about a new, wacky transportation system between Disney’s Epcot and Hollywood Studios parks that’s all well and good if you aren’t afraid of heights ;-)..

According to permits filed by Walt Disney World it appears that a ‘Skyway-type Gondola system’ might be put in to place to transport guests between Epcot, Hollywood Studios and some resort hotels. Looking at the permits, the cable car type carriages will stop at Epcot’s International Gateway, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, shared station at Pop Century and Art of Animation Resorts as well as Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

There was once a Skyway attraction that operated at Magic Kingdom between the years of 1971 – 1999 that took guests between tomorrow land and fantasy land. The new system would probably be a lot bigger and it would be lovely to have a Skyway back at Walt Disney World working as a real transportation system and not an attraction.

It is well known that Disney aren’t going to be building a monorail expansion any time soon due to cost and efficiency issues but personally I would think that this system would be even more expensive don’t you?

Personally, I love this idea and think it would add to the whole Disney experience as well as being a mega cool way to get between the two parks / hotels and just imagine the views!!

What do you think of this rumour?
