Earlier this year we reported that Universal had introduced metal detectors on some of their more popular roller coasters in an attempt to decrease the possibility of visitors being struck by items dropping out of riders pockets.
We’re hearing today that Disney have added metal detectors to the front of all 4 of its theme parks. Reports suggest that this may not be a permanent addition however nothing confirming this has come from Disney.
Disney have stated that they continually update and check their security procedures and with tonight’s premier of Star Wars at Disney Springs which includes entry into Hollywood Studios, its better to be safe than sorry.
UPDATE: We also understand that both Universal and SeaWorld are looking to install metal detectors over the Christmas period.
