Hey Thrill Seekers,
So, Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando is drawing to a close after yet another spectacular year of terrifying haunted houses and horrifying scare zones and shows. Those of you who were brave enough to enter Universal during the world famous Halloween Horror Nights have been busy voting and discussing your favourite houses of 2016.
Number 1. Without a shadow of a doubt the favourite house of this year was FX American Horror Story which has come in with the most votes.
As quoted by one of our customers who visited this year:
“Excellent reenactment of series.”
It is renowned for its intricate detail and amazing likeness to the series – this may have something to do them working with the series creator this year! It has been by far the most popular house of HHN 26. I’m not sure if it would be scarier having watched the series beforehand or not as you may know what to expect already!? If you have visited the American Horror story house this year let us know your opinions if you’ve watched the series and also if you haven’t.
Number 2. Coming in a little way behind is the AMC Walking Dead house. With all 6 seasons of the Walking Dead intertwined into one house you can imagine this to be a very fast paced and intense experience. Maybe not as freaky as American Horror story but still a haunting experience. As one of our customers who visited this year who gave it 5 stars said:
“Well worth doing, this is proper scary”
Number 3. Coming in a steady third is The Exorcist. Even if you aren’t into horror films or series you will have still heard of The Exorcist. As Universal have put it themselves, this house is
“Haunting. Shocking. Indelible.”
This house is definitely a must when visiting Halloween Horror Nights. Some people may have thought ‘how can you make a maze based on a movie that is filmed mostly in a bedroom?’ however it seems that Universal have figured their way around those doubts and created an utterly terrifying experience topped off with lots of iconic vomit. YUCK. Oh and you cant forget the spider walk down the stairs – my personal favourite part of the Exorcist!!
Number 4. A very close fourth is actually a scare zone, Dead Mans Wharf. Scare Zones allow Universal to transform the streets of the park into petrifying lands so you can never really get away… One moment you’re be tip-toeing around a forest and the next thing you know you’re being chased by zombies in a high school set up! Dead Mans Wharf is a nautical themed scare zone based on spirits of a lost crew who have returned in search for revenge. This scare zone is without a doubt our customers favourite from this year.
Number 5. Fifth in our rankings is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Now i could go on all day about how any show, maze or anything horror based that includes a chainsaw absolutely terrifies me. Being hunted by a scary masked man with a chainsaw was never on my top 10 list of things to do before i die however it does get your adrenaline pumping doesn’t it?! Another well known film converted into a great experience for Universal visitors for yet another chance to step inside a horror movie and encounter all your favourite villains.
Now I think my favourite would have been the Texas Chainsaw Massacre due to the fact its a fast paced house that really gets your blood pumping although as soon as I hear a chainsaw start up I freak out!!
The real star of the show was obviously the FX American Horror Story house which seems to have blown everyone away with its likeness to the series. Universal have yet again out done themselves with their 26th Halloween Horror Nights.
If you were brave enough to visit this year and haven’t left your thoughts and opinions on the houses, scare zones and shows yet, please do let us know which ones were your favourites and why.. Why not even let us know what you would think a good idea for a new house would be!
Screams Included.
