Nintendo Partners With Universal Orlando For New Theme Park Attractions

Hey Thrill Seekers,

Universal are just showing off now… yesterday they released details of Skull Islands: Reign of Kong to much excitement and anticipation.

Today they’ve dropped even more exciting news, Tom Schroder Head of PR at Universal confirmed that they’d entered into an agreement with Nintendo to  create spectacular, dedicated experiences based on Nintendo’s wildly popular games, characters and worlds.

Nintendo offer some classic IP featuring household names like the Mario Brothers, Sonic the Hedgehog and Zelda. The move brings together two powerhouses in storytelling and it will be extremely exciting to see what the combined creative forces of Universal and Nintendo can come up with.

Universal has often been pigeonholed as catering specifically for teenagers and older, perhaps this partnership is a conscious effort to look after the extremely lucrative 3-9 year old market that Disney currently dominates.

Tom hinted that Universal will look to create a dedicated land with unique attractions;

The immersive experiences will include major attractions at Universal’s theme parks and will feature Nintendo’s most famous characters and games.

More details will be announced in the future, as the Nintendo and Universal creative teams work to create specific concepts.

We’ll keep you posted.

Smiles included…

Jamie
