Hey Thrill Seekers,
Tomorrow we’ll officially be struggling to write 2016 instead of 2015 but before we truly cast 2015 into the past I thought I’d take a stroll down memory lane and take a look back on a great year.
2015 has been massive for Disney, dominated by Star Wars! Episode 7 was released in cinema’s across the world and became the quickest film to reach $1 billion at the box office. Disney were well aware of how well the film would do and announced massive plans to bring the beloved franchise to Disney Hollywood Studios. Check out my post from earlier this year.
Universal Orlando Resort
Universal continued there great run and footfall at all their parks is expected to rise. Halloween Horror Nights 25 was a huge success as Universal brought back fan favourite Jack the Clown.
Universal dropped some huge announcements in 2015 including confirmation that King Kong would be opening in 2016, Wet N’ Wild would be closing but that they were working on building a brand new state of the art water park called Volcano Bay. Fans of The Fast and the Furious were delighted to hear that the ride would be coming to Universal Studios and to pop the icing on the cake Universal announced that their new hotel Sapphire Falls would be opening in the summer of 2016.
SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment
There’s no hiding the fact that 2015 has been tough for SeaWorld. The company is in a massive transitional period trying to find a balance between its great conservation work and its entertainment side.
On the plus side, SeaWorld confirmed that it would be unveiling a new coaster in 2016 called MAKO, which it claims will be the tallest, longest and fastest coaster in Orlando! Busch Gardens also revealed it will be opening a new attraction in Tampa aimed at families, Cobra’s Curse will be the parks first spinning coaster.
A Year at OAT
2015 has been massive for Orlando Attraction Tickets, we’ve smashed all previous sale records and firmly cemented ourselves as the fastest growing theme park specialist in the World.
We launched a new app, a first within our sector. We redesigned the main website to make it more responsive and sprinkled a bit of science on it. We were nominated for 3 separate awards for website excellence and grew existing relationships with our partners.
All in all, its been a great 2015. Here’s hoping for an even better 2016…
