Hey Thrill Seekers,
Today SeaWorld Orlando told us all a little bit more about the new coaster they’re looking to open in 2016 and they did it from the top of a crane 200 feet in the air!
SeaWorld have been promoting the new coaster using the hashtag #NothingFaster but they’ve also claimed, that at the time of opening, it will not only be the fastest but also the tallest and longest in Orlando.
At present the fastest Coaster in Orlando is The Incredible Hulk Ride at Universals Islands of Adventure which hits a top speed of 67 mph, the tallest is Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios which stands at an impressive 167 feet and the longest is Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom which stretches across 4424 feet and lasts an impressive 4 minutes.
As predicted by us, SeaWorld Orlando have confirmed the name of their new ride will be Mako, the Mako is the fastest species of Shark known to man and is often photographed leaping from the Sea.
Mako will be built by B&M who have made such coasters as Swarm at Thorpe Park and of course SeaWorld’s own Manta. The introduction of Mako means that Shark Encounter will get a complete makeover.
Mako will take us underwater to the realm of sharks (Shark Realm, may change). New retail experiences. Mako will be the apex ride at SeaWorld.
Mako is truly a Hyper Coaster, guest will take the point of view of the Mako Shark, to recreate this Mako needs a lots of space and at 4763 feet of track almost a mile long, the ride will last aprox. 3 minutes 13 seconds.
SeaWorld mentioned the term “Relentless airtime” quite a few times, the first drop will be 200 feet tall and hit speeds of up to 73 miles per hour. The ride will also be educational and SeaWorld hope to alter the way Sharks are perceived. It will also have in ride music, a 48,000-watt, intelligent surround-sound system which will follow the coaster trains!
Smiles included…
