Theme Park Fatigue? Take A Break From The Parks With These Great Tickets

Hey Thrill Seekers,

Theme Park Fatigue can happen to the best of us! A whole day at an Orlando park can be very tiring, there’s tons of walking involved and lots of standing on your feet. We actually calculated the amount of calories you can lose when visiting SeaWorld and Busch Gardens last year and it turned out to be the equivalent of a good 10k run!

So taking a break from the parks to recharge your batteries is a must, here’s our top tickets and attractions to help combat theme park fatigue.

Kennedy Space Center

Kennedy Space Center is constantly ranked as one of the best attractions in Florida. The still working space station is a great way to recharge your theme park batteries while at the same time visiting a truly icon attraction.

KSC recently added the Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibit to their collection, raised 30 feet off the ground and rotated 43 degrees visitors will experience Atlantis as if it were in space. It also features more than 60 interactive, immersive exhibits and simulators which will provide guests a never-before experienced perspective on the shuttle’s complex systems, components and capabilities.

Kennedy Space Center Tickets can be purchased from as little as £29.00 per adult and £24.00 per child.

WonderWorks

The most eye-catching feature of WonderWorks is the attraction’s dramatic exterior; a three-story tall, classically designed building that appears to have landed upside down, atop a 1930s era brick warehouse.

WonderWorks is an amusement park for the mind with over 100 interactive exhibits for visitors of all ages to explore.

You can visit WonderWorks from as little as £15.00 per adult and £12.00 per child.

Water Parks

Yep granted it has the word Park in the title but Orlando water parks are nothing like their theme park brethren. Relax and soak up the rays or go for a paddle in the lazy river. Orlando’s waterparks have something for everyone.

Universal have Wet N’ Wild, which offers the most multi person rides in a single park in Florida. There are also tons of places to sunbathe.

SeaWorld’s water park is called Aquatica and has an Australian and New Zealand theme. They’re set to open their new ride Ihu’s Breakaway Falls this year, which has been billed as the tallest, multi person drop ride in southern America. Aquatica also has an 80,000 square foot man made beach for you to relax on.

Disney have two water parks, Blizzard Beach with its winter theme and Typhoon Lagoon with its story of a typhoon wreaking havoc on a tropical island. Both have plenty of places to relax.

Prices can vary, the most popular ticket to include water parks is the Orlando PassPort.

Wet-N-Wild

Discovery Cove

Of all the attractions I’ve visited in Orlando Discovery Cove is easily the most relaxing, it could be the tranquil waters, the beautiful dolphins or the free booze on tap, we’ll never truly know 😉 but what I do know is that Discovery Cove is one of the most enjoyable days out I’ve ever had…. actually its so enjoyable I’ve been there 3 times now.

Featuring a dolphin interaction, a beautiful aviary, serenity bay and a freshwater oasis, Discovery Cove is fully equipped to deal with your theme park fatigue .

Discovery Cove is limited to 1300 people per day and prices depend upon the time of year you attend. You can check availability and pricing here.

So there we have it our top tickets for fighting theme park fatigue… I guess you could try one of these or if you’re tough enough push on through and visit a theme park everyday 🙂

Hi Thrill Seekers,

Wet N’ Wild Orlando have today announced they will be opening a new four lane water slide called Aqua Drag Racer. Stated to stand over six stories high Wet N’ Wild are billing it as the fastest, tallest ride of its kind in Orlando.

aqua drag racer

The new mat slide attraction scheduled to open this summer will replace Bubba Tub (which was closed the last time I visited) and will allow riders to travel at 15 feet per-second.

Based on a racing theme riders are encouraged to try and beat each other as confirmed by Michael Black, Sr. Vice President & GM of Wet ‘n Wild.

The new Aqua Drag Racer will pull guests into a high-speed thrill ride unlike any other around, This ride combines friendly competition along with the excitement of sharing the rush with family and friends.

Aqua Drag Racer will be the second multi-person attraction to open at an Orlando water park this summer, as Aquatica revealed late last year their intention to open Ihu’s Breakaway Falls.

I can’t wait to ride both, you can purchase Wet N’ Wild Length of stay ticket for as little as £26.00 from Orlando Attraction Tickets.

Disney Park Reviews In 2013

Hey Thrill Seekers,

Back in September 2013 we launched our #Discover pages not only to display information about our partners but also to display your reviews and votes for best attractions at each park.

With 2013 now in the past I thought it might be a good idea to display the end of year statistics for each park, at the end of 2014 we’ll be able to monitor how this has altered and how new introductions this year effect the votes.

Magic Kingdom

Animal Kingdom

The most popular location at the Disney parks was Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom which got an impressive 55 votes, however Magic Kingdom was the most reviewed Disney park with 90 unique reviews.

In 2014 Magic Kingdom will introduce the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ride and we’re expecting that to move quickly up the charts.

SeaWorld’s Aquatica Water Park Gives Us A Scream Peek At Whats Coming In 2014

Hi all,

Since Aquatica announced it was building something big, using the hashtag #NothingTaller to open in 2014, we’ve been speculating what that could be. We’re obviously thinking some kind of slide and at an expected 105 foot its at least sounds pretty exciting.

Today they released a teaser video or as they called it a “scream” peek… see what they did there!? I’ve embedded the video below take a look and see what you think.

No one at Aquatica is giving us any hints though but they are saying this new additional will “blow our minds”.

One thing I do know is that Disney state their Summit Plummet at Disney World’s Blizzard Beach measures in at 120 ft high….

What do you think, are you excited?

Aquatica To Build Largest Water Thrill Ride To Open In 2014

Afternoon Thrill Seekers,

Yesterday I mentioned that Aquatica would be announcing details for105 balloon their new ride set to open in 2014. When I said details… I actually meant detail, one detail to be precise…. its height.

Today in  a press release they revealed that their new water thrill ride will stand at over 100 feet tall! By the image that came with the press release we’re guessing 105 feet tall.

As SeaWorld put it, the ride will become…

the tallest water thrill ride of its type in Orlando

But thats all folks, no name, no other details…

We’ll keep you posted when we find out more.

Aquatica Confirms Operating Calendar Amendment

Afternoon Thrill Seekers,

We’ve just had work here at Orlando Attraction Tickets of a slight aquaticaamendment to SeaWorld owned water park, Aquatica’s operating calendar.

Please note that the park will now be closed on the following dates;

November 4, 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, and 25

December 2, 5, 9, 12, 16, and 19

The closures are pretty standard for Orlando’s water parks and I’m sure we’ll see further information from Disney and Universal over the upcoming weeks.

Aquatica has proved to be a massive hit as 2012 attendance figures show, despite only being 4 years old the park managed to serve over 1.2 million customers in 2012 and only looks to be getting stronger.

At the time of writing you can purchase a 2 Park SeaWorld and Aquatica 14 day ticket for only £82.00 per adult.

2012 Water Park Attendance Results

Morning Thrill Seekers,

Yesterday I shared with you the 2012 Theme Park attendance results which were dominated by Disney (as usual). Today I thought I’d take a look at the 2012 attendance report for Water Parks.

Although I’m not the strongest of swimmers I do love a good water park and no one in the World does a better water park than the Americans.

Disney

Disney offers 2 themed water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach.

Typhoon Lagoon is the World’s busiest water park with attendance figures for 2012 up 2% yoy to an impressive 2,100,000.

Blizzard Beach also fares well on a global scale claiming the number 3 spot in the World and servicing 1,929,000 up 2% yoy.

SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment

Aquatica is one of Florida’s newest water parks and has quickly become a must visit for residents and tourists alike. Despite being only 4 years old, Aquatica has managed to service 1,538,000 in 2012 which represents a year on year increase of 2.5% and gives it a worldwide positioning of 5th.

Universal

Wet N’ Wild is one of Orlando’s more recognisable water parks and boasts more multi passenger rides than any other water park in the World. This has helped it to a respectable 8th in World based on 1,247,000 visitors in 2012 up 2% yoy.

Here is the top 20 list of Water Parks in America

water parks 2012

As you can see Florida dominates the top spots but on a whole 2012 was a good year for water parks in the USA.

Which is your favourite water park?
