What can we expect from the SeaWorld parks in the next couple of years?

Hey Thrill Seekers,

Lets take a look at all of the confirmed and rumoured attractions coming to the SeaWorld parks (SeaWorld, Aquatica and Busch Gardens) in the next few years!

What? Infinity Falls Where? SeaWorld When? 2018

This was supposed to open in summer this year however we are still patiently awaiting the chance to be able to ride this awesome raft attraction! It’s going to feature the worlds tallest river rapid drop of 40ft!

What? Tigris Where? Busch Gardens Tampa When? 2019

We cannot wait for this new coaster!  It’s going to be Florida’s tallest launch coaster and will feature a TRIPLE LAUNCH with both forward and backward motions.

What? Sesame Street Land Where? SeaWorld When? 2019

Sesame Street is set to transport  guests into the colourful and creative world of Sesame Street through immersive theming, character interactions and interactive play.

What? new coaster Where? SeaWorld When? 2020 (rumour)

There are lots of rumours flying around that SeaWorld’s next big attraction is going to be a coaster (first once since Mako which opened in 2016) the coaster is rumoured to be similar to Wave Breaker Coaster at San Antonios SeaWorld! If this one is true then i’m all for it!

What? Gwazi revamp Where? Busch Gardens Tampa When? 2020

When Busch Gardens announced Tigris the other day they also let slip a little secret which is that Gwazi is going to be revamped into a ride that will make you want to ‘hold on to your seats’ Yippeeee!

What? water coaster Where? Aquatica When? 2020

Water Country USA Williamsburg is building a brand new water coaster for 2019 called Cutback. Behind The Thrills have said that the slide is said to be making it’s way to Orlando, with a much tighter and quicker footprint. Instead of huge sprawling track, it will double on itself and be located in between the two wave pools. :O

SeaWorld really know how to bounce back don’t they! I hope the rumours are true too!

Construction of Ray Rush is in Full Swing

Hey Thrill Seekers,

I’m extremely excited about Ray Rush which is opening in the Spring of 2018 and yesterday Aquatica uploaded some construction pics, lets take a look..

As we can all see, the primary colours of the slide are blues and greens – sticking with the ocean animal theme of rays.

Lots of parts ready and waiting to become a piece of Ray Rush!

I can see parts that look like pizza slices in the right side of this photo, I wonder what part of the slide they will be home too…     I’m  not sure if the guy on the right is taking the photo or scratching his head as to say ‘I’ve left the instructions at home Dave’

Here we can see that Hooroo Run is no more so that we can make way for Ray Rush which will now be next to Walhalla Wave on the left hand side of the photo and is closed until Ray Rush opens in Spring.

Who’s excited for this to open?! If you can’t remember what Ray Rush is going to look like then see below..

Triple your fun with the three-in-one thrills of Ray Rush, new at Aquatica Orlando. Ray Rush is the fully-loaded water adventure with three ways to slide, splash and soar like never before. First, water jets launch your raft from zero to awesome in just seconds. Your adventure takes a twisting turn as you spin inside a colossal water sphere. Finally, dive into the giant manta wings, swooping up and down a different path each time. Fill your raft with family and friends for three times the thrills on the exciting Ray Rush at Aquatica, SeaWorld’s waterpark.

It looks and sounds awesome!

New Attractions to Look Forward to in 2018

Hey Thrill Seekers,

2017 has nearly come to an end, we’ve had loads of cool new attractions / parks arrive in Orlando this year such as Volcano Bay and Pandora – The World of Avatar and lucky for us 2018 is not going to disappoint either with loads of new rides set to open in the coming year.

I’m going to start with Hollywood Studios as we are eagerly awaiting the opening of Toy Story Land here at OAT towers. Two new rides and a food spot have been officially named for Toy Story Land which is opening in the summer of next year; Slinky Dog Dash – a family coaster where you will find  yourself zipping, dodging and dashing around a track that Andy has created to stretch Slinky to his limits. Alien Swirling Saucers where aliens will be flying around in their saucers trying to capture your rocket toy vehicle with ‘The Claw’ and Woodys Lunch Box which will be a quick service window to grab some of Andy’s fave food.

Next up is Universal Studios where Fast & Furious – Supercharged is set to open in Spring. Now this is one i’m personally super excited about as I LOVE  the Fast & Furious films. Guests will be immersed in their own Fast and Furious story, escaping the enemy with familiar faces such as Dom, Letty and Hobbs. The new ride will also feature a Virtual Line just like in Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon.

SeaWorld is also opening a brand new ride in the summer called Infinity Falls. Infinity Falls is a river rapids ride with a twist. It will be a 4+ minute ride featuring a 40ft plunge down the tallest drop of its kind. Riders will get to experience the excitement and thrills of category 4 white water rapids and use a ‘unique elevator lift’ which will create the worlds tallest drop on a river raft ride.

Aquatica is also debuting a brand new ride; Ray Rush. This ride is set to open in Spring and will be the only water ride in Florida to offer a water jet propel system which will launch riders (4 at a time) at 33 feet per second. It will have a height requirement of 42”.

LEGOLAND are also in the mix of opening new rides in 2018 with The Great LEGO Race: Opening in Spring – a new virtual-reality roller coaster adventure. This new coaster will feature virtual reality technology, a cast of wacky LEGO minifigures and is replacing the current Project X coaster.

Take a look at myself and Gavins recent OAT Live where we discussed everything we are looking forward to in 2018 (as well as my rubbish attempt at playing a Kazuu) and also another cool video below to round up all the new things to look forward to next year;

Personally, the one i’m most looking forward to is Fast & Furious – Supercharged. Whats yours?

OAT Live – The Review Of Volcano Bay

Hey Thrill Seekers,

With Gavin just back from Orlando Abby took the opportunity to sit down with him and pick his brains over the Universal’s new water theme park, Volcano Bay.

Gavin visited Volcano Bay 5 times so his review is brutally honest at times. If you’re heading to Orlando this year its  a must watch.

The Universal 3 Park Explorer ticket offers 14 days unlimited access to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay and can be pre-purchased directly from Orlando Attraction Tickets.

Disney Water Parks To Introduce Virtual Queues

Hey Thrill Seekers,

Virtual queuing… haven’t we written about this already!? Yup hot on the heels of Universal confirming virtual queuing at Volcano Bay and Race Through New York starring Jimmy Fallon, Disney will also be using the system at Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach.

What?

Virtual queuing is an in park system that selects a time for you to ride an attraction, so instead of standing and queuing you return to the attraction at agreed time. This allows you to enjoy the rest of the park while you wait.

Virtual queuing  is different to Disney’s FastPass+ system as you can’t pre-book virtual queues.

Where?

We are lead to believe that testing for the virtual system has already begun at both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard beach with Typhoons newest attraction Miss Adventure Falls being one of the rides being used along with Summit Plummet, Slush Gusher and Double Dipper at Blizzard Beach.

Anything that cuts down physical queuing is well received by us. It looks like virtual queuing could be the new buzz item at parks.

Universal Confirm Wet N’ Wild Site To Become A Hotel

Hey Thrill Seekers,

Now you know me, I’m not one to say I told you so but…back in 2015 I totally told you!

Here’s the article I’m referring to  scroll done to the bottom of the page and you’ll note my prediction in bold!

Yep its official Universal have filed documents with Orlando City confirming that they are looking to add 4000 rooms to the site formally known as Wet n’ Wild.

The Orlando Sentinel which makes a habit of breaking these types of stories has confirmed that within the filing Universal entered a master-plan framework for the area however Universal have revealed little else, no name, not theming. As reported widely a sketch was also provided with the filing which shows three parking structures and shows that Universal require a part of a street, Precision Drive, vacated.

Two things that immediately spring to mind upon looking at these plans, firstly are Universal actually building two hotels? Secondly, how will Universal get visitors from the new hotel(s) to the parks?

We’ll continue to update.

Miss Adventure Falls Has Opened And The Reviews Are In

Hey Thrill Seekers,

So as you may or may not know, Miss Adventure Falls finally opened at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon on the 12th March 2017, the first new attraction since Crush n’ Gusher in 2005,  but what are people’s thoughts on it so far?

We all know that a new attraction is like THE best thing to ever happen in the theme park world, but are we ever disappointed in them? By the sounds of things, Miss Adventure Falls is a massive hit!

Like no other ride at Typhoon Lagoon, Miss Adventure Falls is 2 minute’s long with a conveyor belt that takes you in your raft up to the top. Everyone has got to be happy about this, surely?! Not trecking up all the steps, raft in arm, in the scorching sun.

As it’s a 4 person raft, it is definitely a family ride and with no height limit it’s not going to be as thrilling as Crush ‘n’ Gusher.

From reviews we’ve been receiving although you could fit 4 people in, some people have said 3 was rather ‘snug’. Everyone is different shapes and sizes so who knows how many people you could squeeze in!

Disney always have a story behind every attraction and this one is so interesting! It brings to life, the story of Captain Mary Oceaneer who’s a treasure hunting heroine that got stranded at Typhoon Lagoon with her pet parrot, Duncan in a rogue storm years and years ago.

The raft you ride in, is your treasure raft that takes you on their adventure. You’ll go up past the Captains wrecked ship where she will be sitting with her parrot. This is the first of its kind at a Disney water park as the parrot is an animatronic animal so he will talk to you about how he is still hunting for treasure to this day!

Going through the queue and you will see the story briefly written on signs letting you know what you’re about to venture into! The conveyor belt is a high capacity system aiming to keep queue times shorter. So far the longest it’s been recorded at is 5 minutes!

Steven from Glasgow said;

It’s great fun, longer than expected, I loved the theming and although billed as a family ride, was still quite thrilling.

Scott from London said;

the ride was effortless – pure laziness is all that is required and what more could you ask for at a water park.

Janet from Cornwall said;

my daughter doesn’t usually like water parks as she’s not a strong swimmer so is always too scared to go on any of the rides but Miss Adventure Falls is perfect for her and now she wants to go on all of them!

Through the first couple of days, there were a few delays due to some of the rafts being abandoned at the bottom but this is all part of opening new attractions! You can see what works and what doesn’t and if it doesn’t, change it. I’m sure it won’t be long before Disney are up to full speed with this attraction and making sure everything runs smoothly.

Finally, there has been a lot of talk about Miss Adventure Falls replacing Shark Reef. This is not true guys!! Miss Adventure Falls is in a different spot to Shark Reef however Shark Reef has sadly closed! 🙁

If you haven’t already, take a look at Miss Adventure Falls here:

Have you experienced Miss Adventure Falls yet? What did you think?

Universal drop parking prices after 6.00pm

Hey Thrill Seekers,

We know as well as you do that parking at the theme parks can be a nightmare sometimes. SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment realised that offering free parking with selected tickets would help them out and it seems Universal are doing their best to keep up now.

They have announced that if you arrive after 6.00pm you will no longer need to pay any parking charges. If you arrive before 6.00pm, you will still have to pay for your days parking i’m afraid  🙁

DSC02855

With Universal CityWalk growing immensely, free parking after 6.00pm will make accessing CityWalk so much easier for guests. Universal CityWalk has a large variety of entertainment and restaurants making it a great place to spend your evening!

Parking at Universal covers access for guests visiting Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, CityWalk and soon to be Volcano Bay so this is going to make a lot of guests extremely happy!

BB-CW-WhatsNew_tcm13-44473

One event that won’t be included within this free, evening parking is going to be Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights 🙁

Disney Springs has free parking so maybe this is why Universal have made these changes? Disney Springs is one of their largest competitors when it comes to evening entertainment, especially for tourists. Hopefully we will see some further changes across the board when it comes to parking!

Do You Really Mean All The Parks?

Hey Thrill Seekers,

A lot of our customers ask for a ticket that includes ‘all of the parks’ without realising how many parks there actually are. Ticket purchasing can become quite complicated when you aren’t aware of all the parks and attractions, especially if you’re a first timer. We have ‘The Big Three’, Disney, Universal and SeaWorld but there is so much more!

Let’s take a look at the big three first.

Walt Disney World actually consists of 6 parks in total, 4 theme parks, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and 2 water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. All of our Disney tickets include all 6 of these parks, we do not offer single day or single park tickets.

Disney’s Magic Kingdom is the park to explore lands of endless enchantment, where your fantasy becomes a reality.

Disney’s Epcot allows you to travel around the globe, under the sea, into outer space…and beyond!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom will amaze you, behold the magic of nature with rare animals and world-class entertainment.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios puts you smack bang in the middle of the action, take center stage in the world of movies, television, music and theater.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is a storm ravaged tropical bay while Disney’s Blizzard Beach is a melting ski resort.

Disney

Moving onto Universal now with their 2 theme parks, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. These 2 parks are joint together using The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and the Hogwarts Express. You must have a hopper ticket to ride the Hogwarts Express, which is of course, what we offer! 🙂

Tip: Ride the Hogwarts Express both ways to encounter two completely different experiences. 😉

Universal Studios is where you can jump into the action of your favourite movies and TV shows’. At the back of the park you will find yourself in Diagon Alley.

Universal’s Islands of Adventure is where you can live the adventure. Towards the back of this park you will be in Hogsmeade.

Universal’s Volcano Bay is the newest park which is due to open on the 1st June 2017. Water is life. Life is joy.

universal

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment have a total of 4 parks including SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Discovery Cove.

SeaWorld Orlando has a mixture of thrill rides, family rides and animal interactions. SeaWorld rescue a lot of animals from the wild to treat them and then release them back into the wild.

Aquatica is SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment’s water park which is themed to the Southern Pacific and features Australian and New Zealand mascots that you can spot relating to each attraction.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is about an hour out of Orlando but so worth the journey! The 19th century African themed park is also, like SeaWorld, a mixture of the thrill and family rides as well as the animal encounters. All of the SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is suitable for all the family.

Tip: We offer these parks at an amazing 3 parks for the price of 2 offer which entails free parking!

Discovery Cove is an amusement park where guests can completely relax with an all inclusive day and have the choice to ‘talk, touch, play and swim with bottlenose dolphins’.

There are 2 Discovery Cove packages available, 1 including 14 days into SeaWorld and Aquatica and our Ultimate package including 14 days into SeaWorld, Aquatica and Busch Gardens.

Tip: You can make the most of the free parking with our Ultimate Package as well. 😉
